Concept Solutions, LLC (CS) is seeking a
Release Manager - Software & Configuration Management to support a mission-critical application modernization program for a Department of War (DoW) customer.
This program focuses on modernizing and unifying access across a portfolio of production applications, creating a single sign-on experience, a shared work environment, and a repeatable approach to integrating applications onto a common platform.
The Release Manager will coordinate software releases, configuration management, change control, and deployment documentation across both existing applications and the evolving platform. The ideal candidate brings experience supporting enterprise software releases in federal environments and understands the importance of disciplined release planning, version control, and operational continuity.
- Release and Configuration Management
- Maintain the customer-approved release calendar for existing production applications and the modernization platform.
- Coordinate change control activities and rollback plans to support reliable software releases.
- Manage software versioning, release notes, and milestone reporting associated with each release.
- Ensure the customer repository remains accurate and current at the conclusion of every sprint.
- Support release coordination across sustained applications and the shared platform while maintaining operational continuity.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in software release management or configuration management for enterprise applications, including experience supporting federal programs.
- Experience with GitLab or comparable version control and repository management tools.
- Knowledge of semantic versioning practices and software release documentation.
- Experience working with change control boards (CCBs) and established change management processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Jira and ServiceNow.
- Familiarity with container-based application deployments.
- Active Secret security clearance.
Work Location and Schedule
- Location: Hybrid. Reston, VA headquarters and approved remote locations within the United States, with on-site work at government facilities in Northern Virginia and Maryland as required.
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with core hours from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Eastern. The program operates in two-week sprints, with customer demonstrations each sprint.
- Travel: 0-10%, within the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
- Security Requirement: U.S. citizenship required. Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoW security clearance. An active Secret clearance or higher is strongly preferred and may allow an earlier start.
- Compensation: $100,000-$130,000 base salary, depending on experience.
This position is contingent upon contract award, with an anticipated start in October 2026.
