Surgical Inpatient Unit 10 East & West, Surgical Program. Employment Status: Temporary Full Time
Duration (if contract):December 2026 - subject to change as per Article 3 - Management Rights.
Hours of Work: 8 or 12 hour rotating shifts on weekdays, evenings, nights and/or weekends - subject to change as per Article 3 - Management Rights.
Location: Humber River Health, Wilson Site
Labour Group: NOWU
Reporting Relationship: Manager, Surgical Inpatient 10 Unit East & West
Hourly Rate: $38.893 - $39.458
Position Responsibilities:The successful candidate will be responsible for Registered Practical Nurse duties in on the Surgical Inpatient Unit.
Qualifications:- Graduate from a recognized Registered Practical Nursing two year diploma program.
- Current Registered Practical Nurse registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Current BCLS certification.
- Experience with patient health teaching.
- Demonstrate competency in a variety of skills including (but not limited to), intramuscular injections, intravenous therapy initiation and discontinuation, Blood Transfusion, Wound Care Dressing, Medication Administration, etc.
- Minimum 1 year acute surgical experience, preferred.
- Basic computer skills and Meditech experience is an asset.
- Knowledge of community resources.
- Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.
