The Internal Progressive Unit (IPU) is where your nursing career can truly thrive! As a 28-bed Medical/Surgical Progressive Care Unit-often called a Step-Down Unit-we provide care for an incredible variety of conditions, including pulmonary, cardiac, renal, hematologic/oncologic, gastrointestinal, and so much more. This is the perfect environment to sharpen your skills and build exceptional critical thinking abilities while working with complex patients. Our team collaborates closely with the ICU's and Rapid Response team, giving you the chance to learn from the best and grow in a fast-paced, supportive setting. Expectations We're Looking For:

  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices


  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association


  • Candidates must have at least 6 months of RN experience, this position is not for new grads


  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. Current RN licensure in an appropriate state. Minium one year nursing experience preferred.

  • As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.


  • Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.

Atrium Health Cabarrus is a 457-bed tertiary care facility serving Cabarrus, Mecklenburg, and surrounding counties.
