JOB DESCRIPTION

Registered Nurse – Emergency Room - Mid Shift

Schedule: 12-hour shifts for full-time requiring 36 hours/week with every other weekend

Mid shift

Hourly Range: $33.19 - $44.81

How you27ll contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN)who excels in this role:

  • Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
  • Documents patient care provided.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.
  • Evaluates patient and family learning needs and provides appropriate education based on age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
  • Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.

What we27re looking for

Applicants should have an active Virginia RN license (single-state) or compact license. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins. Associate27s degree in nursing required.

Additional requirements include:

  • Bachelor27s degree preferred

  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support

  • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - both required within one year of employment-ACLS & PALS
  • Previous experience in acute care hospital setting preferred.
