Responsibilities

  • Perform plan of care interventions, including medication administration and clinical treatments

  • Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care including transfers and discharges
  • Evaluate patient and family learning needs and provide relevant education
  • Advocate for the patient's physical and emotional well-being
  • Participate in performance improvement and continuing education initiatives

Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Room - Days

$20,000 Sign-on bonus eligibility

Schedule: 3-12-hour shifts (every other weekend)

7A-7P

Hourly range: $33.19 - $44.81

  • 4:1 nurse-to-patient ratio for acute patients
  • Specially designed behavioral health safe rooms
  • Care for patients across the lifespan with a wide range of medical emergencies
  • Designated Chest Pain Center and Certified Advanced Primary Stroke Center


How you'll contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN)who excels in this role:
  • Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.
  • Evaluates patient and family learning needs and provides appropriate education based on age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
  • Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have an active Virginia RN license (single-state) or compact license. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins. Associate's degree in nursing required.

Additional requirements include:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support
  • American Heart Association ACLS within 6 months.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) American Heart Association OR Emergency Nurse Association (ENPC) within 6 months.
  • Trauma Nurse Certification Course (TNCC) Emergency Nurse Association, preferred)
  • Experience in acute care hospital, preferred
