Salary Range: $40.00 - $45.00

At Virginia Heart, we are looking for an experienced professional Registered Nurse, Clinical Lead for our Electrophysiology office(EP). The Registered Nurse, Clinical Lead (EP) will serve as the mentor and clinical team leader and oversee clinical operations in the Electrophysiology office. This individual will be the resource or the "go-to" person for both clinical staff and providers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Able to perform all duties of each clinical position.
  • Oversees clinical schedules and assignments, edits them to meet the practice and office's needs.
  • Serves as a resource for clinical staff, provides advice and guidance with clinical decisions to provide extraordinary patient care.
  • Serves as a clinical resource for administrative staff, to assist in prioritizing patient needs.
  • Facilitates adequate communication between the clinical and administrative staff to provide efficient and quality patient care.
  • Direct and frequent communication with the Front Desk Lead to coordinate smooth operations between administrative and clinical functions.
  • Relays clinical issues to providers, as necessary.
  • Ensures daily clinical tasks are completed in an efficient and thorough manner.
  • Serves as a preceptor and mentor for newly hired clinical staff.
  • Aids in maintaining the daily office flow, delegating tasks as needed.
  • Enforces clinical policies to ensure quality patient care.
  • Makes decisions appropriate for role.
  • As assigned, routinely checks the emergency cart and equipment per protocol. The clinical lead is responsible for knowing the location of the medical supplies and medication on the emergency cart and the proper operation of emergency equipment.
  • As assigned, ensuring all safety checks are completed according to policy such as the daily refrigerator temperature log, weekly eye wash station check, monitoring sharps containers, medication closet inventory, etc.
  • Participates as a clinical preceptor. Follows through with the implementation of new clinical processes to ensure compliance with the changes. Communicates process status, both positive and negative effects to management. Participates in continuing education programs, clinical meetings, and mandatory certifications. The Registered Nurse Lead - (EP) is a role model for other team members and encourages participation in Virginia Heart activities.
  • Expected to read, understand, and follow Virginia Heart Employee Handbook, Clinical Policy and Procedure Manual including updated policies and procedures.
  • Ensures the clinical staff understands and complies with the Virginia Heart policies and procedures

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be a Registered Nurse.
  • Current Virginia State Registered Nurse license in good standing required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience, electrophysiology experience preferred.
  • Proficient Computer skills to include Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) required.
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience preferred.
  • Strong computer and typing skills, to include MS Excel, are required.
