Full Job Description
The role of the registered nurse is to support the physicians and/or mid-level providers in the practice with clinical activities and direct patient care. The RN's focus in the cardiology practice will be phone triage and you must have attention to detail and ability to prioritize the acuity of each situation. Other responsibility may be to assist in appointment scheduling, nurse visits and other related activities for optimal patient service. RN's by nature of licensure have an oversight responsibility to other clinical staff (LPN and MA).
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Performs professional nursing care in accordance with NYS Nursing Practice Act
- Carries out all assigned nursing procedures while maintaining a calm and profession demeanor during emergent situations
- Provides patient education, as requested provider
- Prepares patient record for visit, including but not limited to chart prep and nurse note documentation
- Participates in scheduled team meetings to discuss clinical roles, processes and patient concerns
- Works well with members of the team to achieve patient centered care as well as quality by implementing best practice standards
- The shifts for the RN position are starting at 7A to 8:30A and ending between 3:30P-5P.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Graduation from accredited RN program
- Current NYS licensure as a registered nurse
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Basic knowledge of Cardiology diseases and treatment
- Knowledge of medical insurance carriers and how to obtain prior authorization
- Knowledge and ability to perform manual blood pressure checks

Location and Travel Requirements:
- Hours: 7:00am - 6:00pm M-F
- Onsite: Supporting both Cayuga Primary Care - Cayuga Park 2nd floor and Cayuga Women's Health Ithaca
Pay Range Disclosure:
- $35.63 to $44.18 per hour
