Regional Head of Landside Operations APA
This position is responsible for managing end-to-end dispatch operations, including shipment planning, carrier assignment, container movement monitoring, and ensuring timely delivery to customer locations. In addition to dispatch execution, the role oversees exception management activities such as vendor dispute resolution, charge approvals, and addressing operational issues that disrupt the standard process flow. The position also drives continuous improvement by identifying and implementing solutions to eliminate recurring disruptions and enhance overall process efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
·Business Performance – contribute to business performance by the way of ensuring contribution margin across customers are profitable/positive
·Ensure the process has strong controls so there is no revenue leakage
·Ensure all processes are performed as per the agreed terms in Service Level Agreement – Timely & Accurate and maintain and develop effective and efficient operational set-ups and procedures
·Ensure compliance to Performance Management Framework. Track and monitor other KPI's related to the process
·Focus on people engagement by motivating and coaching highly energized team to deliver organizational outcomes with an owners mindset
·Have a continuous improvement mind-set
·Stakeholder communication:Regularly participate and take necessary call / discussions with Business Partners;Timely & professional interaction with Business Partners / Stakeholders;Communicate & Co-ordination with other teams within GSC.
·Actively participate in relevant business contingency testing. Support other GSCs during contingency procedures.
·Strict adherence to APM-M Group culture, values and reputation and ensure compliance with APM-M Group and CB policies.
·To promote an environment of Effective Communication, Constant improvement and live our values.
·Support the team in any escalation or inconvenience that may arise in the operation.
Qualifications:
Graduate, ideally Finance and AccountingorPostgraduatein any discipline
At least 10-12 years experience in operations, shipping container and logistics or Freight forwarder industry. Knowledge on landside business would be an added advantage
Should have prior experience leading a team ofIndividual contributors orTeam leaders
Basic knowledge of capacity management/preparing staffing plan
Experience working in a global business environment, including cultural aspects
Excellent verbal and written English skills for coordination with Stakeholders
Highly result oriented, ready to takechallenges/collaboratewith cross functional teams and able to work under pressure
Capacity to handle change, stay open to different ideas and support for positive change
Understand work in an agile manner, High analytical / problem-solving skills
Proactive leader with customer service mindset
Large scale improvement (standardization and process capability) implementation experience
Focus on productivity, quality, WFO adherence, SLA compliance, and Kaizen.
