Full Job Description
This position contributes to the company's success by providing oversight of professional architectural and engineering services for the development, design, and construction management of construction projects, mainly on or supporting airports, throughout delegated operational area. Performs projects within the parameters of user requirements, budget, time, and internal/external rules and regulations. Provides the organization with cost effective, efficient, and properly planned facilities that will maximize customer experience with operational efficiency.

What You'll Do:
  • Project Leadership: Directs and manages assigned construction, renovation, and facility improvement projects to ensure on-time, on-budget, and fully compliant delivery in accordance with approved scopes, drawings, and specifications.
  • Programming and Scoping: Collaborates with Operations to define functional requirements and translate them into detailed architectural and engineering scopes of work.
  • Design Management: Coordinates with Corporate Design & Construction, and headquarters departments to implement design standards, branding elements, and strategic construction initiatives across the organization's network.
  • Cost Development: Prepares detailed cost estimates utilizing historical construction data, regional cost indexes, and prevailing wage schedules to support project budgeting and financial approval processes.
  • Technical Documentation: Oversees the preparation of design development and construction documentation required for permitting, bidding, and contracting. Reviews drawings for technical accuracy, constructability, and compliance with company design intent and regulatory codes.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Represents the organization in technical design and planning meetings with airports, landlords, and municipal authorities. Advocates for corporate interests during large-scale facility planning and regulatory review processes. Collaborates with Operations teams to determine project/program needs and to develop and prioritize scopes of work based upon these program requirements
  • Construction Oversight: Manages consultants, contractors, vendors, and building officials to ensure project delivery aligns with approved design, quality standards, and contractual obligations. Monitors construction activities to verify compliance with specifications, safety requirements, and environmental regulations.
  • Contract Administration: Administers construction contracts within assigned regions, including issuance of change orders, RFI responses, progress evaluations, and closeout documentation.
  • Due Diligence: Conducts property condition assessments and provides recommendations regarding necessary improvements prior to leasehold acquisition or renewal.
  • Procurement and Contract Execution: Coordinates with Corporate Design & Construction staff to prepare, review, and execute consultant and contractor agreements, ensuring adherence to corporate procurement protocols.
  • Financial Controls: Reviews, verifies, and approves consultant and contractor invoices. Ensures proper supporting documentation and collaborates with internal accounting staff to resolve discrepancies and maintain payment schedules critical to project timelines.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: Provides directions to external design professionals, contractors, and consultants engaged on assigned projects. May provide indirect oversight and technical guidance to internal Corporate Design & Construction staff to ensure consistent application of project management best practices and design standards.

What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or other related area of study with applicable experience.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of practical and progressive commercial construction and design project management experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction activities and professional roles associated with the construction industry.
  • Excellent communication and social skills.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Requires excellent organizational and analytical ability, attention to detail, and ability to manage various 3rd party teams simultaneously.
  • Up to 40% travel required.
