Full Job Description
Pay Range: $83,400.00 - $137,100.00 Bio-Techne is looking for a field-based Protein Science Reagent Sales Specialist to cover a balanced subset of key accounts in Texas. The focus of the product lines are Proteins, Antibodies, Elisa kits, Multiplexing kits and other solutions from our brands such as R&D Systems. The responsibilities of this position are to achieve sales targets through the application of consultative value selling to various size pharma, government and academia accounts. The candidate will achieve this through high-content meetings with scientists at all levels, virtual or in person; this will involve a variety of formats including presentations of the total portfolio to casual meetings discussing a specific product or service. It will be vital to be familiar with standard scientific methods, reagents, techniques, and equipment relevant to Bio-Techne's product line. The ideal candidate is located in Texas, within 45 minutes of Houston. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible to receive a commission plan on individual performance, in accordance with company policy. Key Responsibilities: • Achieve sales targets through application of consultative selling methods. • Field sales located in the designated territory and visiting customers 4 days per week. • Maintain and develop incremental business in existing and new accounts. • Identify solutions for customers using industry and product knowledge for proteins, antibodies, small molecules, cell culture reagents, and cell therapy products • Plan and execute account management to accomplish goals and follow company vision. • Ensure that customers understand the value proposition, features & benefits, competitive advantages, and applications of all relevant products. • Daily use of CRM (Salesforce) for scheduling, forecasting, and detailed capture of customer information for all opportunities. Job Qualifications Education and Experience: • Bachelor's degree in biological/medical sciences or a life science field is required. Advanced degrees may be considered in lieu of industry experience. • Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience in life sciences sales is required. • Experience selling research reagents or related life science consumables is strongly preferred. • Thorough understanding of the scientific principles behind the use of Bio-Techne products • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Salesforce (CRM), as well as computer entry and/or typing skills are highly desired. • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and have good verbal and written communication skills. • Valid driver's license required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Proven ability to secure your own meetings at locked-down pharma accounts • Knowledge of reagents, laboratory techniques, methods and equipment used in research, development, and production of pharmaceutical drugs and biologics. • Understanding of the organizational structure of pharmaceutical, biotech, academic and government segments and how to penetrate those departments. • Skilled at identifying and evaluating customer needs to recommend appropriate products and solutions. • Ability to act independently and in teams on routine assignments or projects. • Ability to plan, organize and multi-task to complete assignments in an efficient manner. • Deep understanding of customer needs by virtue of previous lab experience. • Modern prospecting skill set and business acumen to find and convert new business. • Regular and demonstrable experience using a CRM to document the sales process with customer information. • Previous consultative selling experience in a scientific environment is required. • Passion for your work with an attitude that makes customers want to interact with you, always looking for solutions create win-win outcomes for the customer and Bio-Techne. • Integrity: Acts in a manner consistent with the Company vision; behaves in a professional and ethical manner in all cases. • Intrinsically motivated and competitive seeking creative ways to grow the business. • Strong partner and team member seeking opportunities to contribute to the overall team and Bio-Techne's success. • Flexibility to thrive in the fast-paced environment and manage frequent changes as companies evolve and change.
