Full Job Description
General Summary

This position is responsible for coordinating operating group Quality Management (QM) functions. This includes responsibility for technical support of QC operations, QM initiative development, and process improvement activities generating/disseminating best practices to ensure compliance with Granite Construction standards of expectations.

Essential Job Accountabilities
  • Actively participate in development of corporate Quality Management initiatives and implementation of them to ensure compliance with quality standards and value added benefit to customers.
  • Assist and support QC Managers with execution of overall QM programs and establishment of operation specific quality programs to assure compliance with contract requirements.
  • Provide technical support for QC Managers and operations to ensure rapid resolution of technical challenges, customer service, and knowledge transfer needs.
  • Provide technical support for review of RFPs to determine quality requirements, mix design review, and determination of optimum QC plans to meet requirements while minimizing risk and cost.
  • Continually participate in process improvement activities to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness, then develop and disseminate best practices and standard operating procedures based on them.
  • Be actively involved in QC staff development to assure a highly engaged workforce and succession planning.
  • Perform QM audits of area, region, and project quality operations to assure compliance with project specific and corporate compliance standards.
  • Assist QC Managers with development of quality budgets and forecasts are and use to achieve positive financial performance.
  • Develop, maintain, and leverage relationships with key regional and state public agency technical staff, customers, and engineering firms.
  • Participate in and promote Granite's safety procedures to promote a safe working environment including compliance with OSHA and MSHA rules and regulations.


Education/Certification
  • BS in Engineering desired or equivalent work experience
  • Registered Professional Engineer desired
  • ISO Internal Auditor Certification desired


Work Experience
  • BS in Engineering and 10 years experience or 25 years technical/managerial experience in construction and construction materials.


Knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Expert knowledge of quality management concepts and audit procedures
  • Proficient with database operations and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Self-motivated

Base Salary Range:
$127,843.00 - $233,089.00
Pay may vary based upon relevant experience, skills, location, and education among other factors.
