Quality Engineer III Job Title Department Position Type Location Quality Engineer III Quality & Field Operations Full-time San Jose/On-site Report To FLSA Status Date Modified Quality Engineering Manager Exempt 09/17/2026 Job Summary The Quality Engineer III works with stakeholders across engineering, manufacturing and product support to spearhead end-to-end product quality activities and process improvement initiatives. Core Role Responsibilities 1. Drives quality at the product & process level ensuring the delivery of high-quality products for KRI customers 2. Investigates product failures, determines root cause, generates containment, plans and implements corrective actions 3. Collaborates with engineering, customer program management, and supply chain on quality defect resolution 4. Performs error code analysis and troubleshooting, data compilation, analysis and presentation 5. Troubleshoots electrical and mechanical failures and malfunctions and reports findings 6. Performs failure analysis and drives 8Ds to closure 7. Analyzes NC trends, yield, QPPM and generates quality scorecards 8. Initiates CIPs and process improvement projects and completes them in alignment with org. vision. 9. Analyzes current and future needs & generates/releases relevant work instructions and quality procedures. 10. Analyzes identified processes in detail using lean tools (i.e. VSM) to identify problem areas and potential solutions. 11. Conducts internal and external factory audits 12. Executes and completes special projects as required 13. Supports and lead process improvement activities in cross-functional environments to help improve quality 14. Writes reports and present project status 15. Interfaces with customers on deliverables and manages programs 16. All other duties as assigned Qualifications a. Required 1. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering 2. 5-7 years experience in Quality Engineering 3. Strong background in robotics and/or semiconductor equipment 4. Strong knowledge of reliability modeling and apportionment 5. Solid understanding of GR&R, HALT, HASS, F47, ESD, EMC, and ISTA testing 6. Proficient with instrumentation and computer tools for data collection 7. Must be able to interpret engineering drawings and specifications 8. Strong project management skills 9. Previous knowledge in digital system development building process workflows, tasks, and notifications 10. Excellent communication, adaptability, organization & time management skills with the ability to work with various stakeholders b. Preferred 1. Master's degree in Engineering 2. CQE and CRE Certification 3. Ability to speak and/or read Japanese 4. Solid understanding of the SEMI standards 5. Certification in MES, Six Sigma Black Belt, Digital Manufacturing & Design Technology (DM&DT) 6. Expert in quality engineering with background in QMS implementation, improvements and rollout Physical Requirements 1. Must be able to lift up to 30lbs 2. Ability to travel up to 5% domestically and/or internationally 3. Able to carry, lift, push, pull, stand, bend, walk and work on/around moving mechanical parts for long periods of time 4. Attendance is a requirement of this position
