Full Job Description
What's in it for you:Supports cross-functional project teams to ensure quality is designed, developed, and implemented into products and processes from concept through launch and post-launch support. This role partners with engineering, operations, sourcing, and project management on initiatives such as NPD, VAVE, ETO, DTO, design specials, and other business-critical projects. The engineer helps reduce risk, improve manufacturability, ensure compliance, and drive robust problem-solving throughout the project lifecycle.

What you will do:
  • Serve as the quality representative on cross-functional project teams for NPD, VAVE, ETO, DTO, design specials, and similar initiatives.
  • Ensure quality requirements are identified, documented, and flowed into product and process development activities.
  • Participate in project reviews, design reviews, risk assessments, and gate approvals.
  • Lead or support APQP, control plan development, PFMEA/DFMEA reviews, and process validation activities as applicable.
  • Define product and process quality criteria for prototypes, pilot builds, pre-production, and production launch.
  • Partner with design engineering to review drawings, specifications, tolerances, and critical-to-quality characteristics.
  • Work with manufacturing and operations teams to develop control plans, inspection methods, test plans, and quality controls.
  • Lead the development of inspection plans and quality acceptance criteria
  • Support supplier quality activities related to new components, design changes, and cost-reduction projects.
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions using structured problem-solving tools such as 8D, 5 Whys, and fishbone analysis.
  • Monitor project quality metrics and communicate risks, issues, and mitigation actions to stakeholders.
  • Support qualification of new products, special designs, components, materials, processes, process equipment, and tooling.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable customers, regulatory, and internal quality requirements.
  • Review and approve deviation requests, concession activities, and change-related quality documentation when required.
  • Assist with PPAP, first article inspection, capability studies, measurement system analysis, and validation documentation where applicable.
  • Provide quality support during launch, early production, and field issue follow-up.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that improve reliability, cost, delivery, and customer satisfaction.

What you will bring:
  • 3+ years of experience in quality engineering, manufacturing engineering, product quality, or project quality.
  • Experience supporting cross-functional product or process projects in a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of quality tools such as FMEA, control plans, SPC, MSA, capability analysis, and root cause analysis.
  • Experience with new product introduction, product changes, validation, and production launch support.
  • Proficiency with standard quality systems and documentation practices.
  • Experience with electrical components and assemblies is highly preferred.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP, PLM, or quality management systems is a plus.
  • ASQ certification or similar credential is a plus.

$89,585.00 - $124,950.00
