About the Job A Quality Engineer ensures products and manufacturing systems consistently meet stringent regulatory, industry, and customer standards. They are responsible for preventing defects from the early design phase through production by auditing processes, maintaining quality management systems, investigating root causes, and driving continuous process improvements.
Duties & Responsibilities- Management Systems (QMS): Develop, implement, and maintain quality control systems, manuals, and procedures aligning with industry standards like ISO 9001 or AS9100.
- Root Cause & CAPA: Lead Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) activities using structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 5 Whys, 8D, FMEA) to investigate defects and prevent their recurrence.
- Process Improvement: Analyze defects and test data to identify systemic manufacturing flaws and implement engineering changes to optimize product efficiency and reduce waste.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as the bridge between R&D, manufacturing, supply chain, and customer teams to ensure quality is built into the product at every stage.
- Auditing & Compliance: Plan and conduct internal and supplier audits, ensuring raw materials and finished assemblies comply with technical blueprints and specifications.
- Electrical Testing & Data Analysis: Design experiments and managing sampling and testing plans using statistical process control (SPC) to verify compliance prior to customer delivery
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree in engineering, quality management, or a closely related technical field.
- Hands-on experience in quality assurance, testing, or auditing, with industry-specific requirements (e.g., aerospace, automotive, or medical devices).
- Technical Skills: Deep understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), reading blueprints, measurement instrumentation, and statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab).
- Certifications: Professional credentials such as an ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt are highly desired.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication, meticulous attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to confidently influence teams across all organizational levels
- U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
