POSITION SUMMARYThe Data Center Quality Engineer ensures the manufacturing quality, reliability, and continuous improvement of our Data Center Power Network Modules. In this role, you will be the primary gatekeeper for hardware quality, operating at the intersection of power design, hardware engineering, and mass production. You will ensure that critical power modules (including Low voltage assemblies, busway plug-in units, etc.) meet hyperscale data center uptime standards. This position spans the entire product lifecycle from New Product Introduction (NPI) through mass production and field reliability tracking.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES- Drive Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) utilizing 8D problem-solving methodologies and 5-Why forensics. Performing periodic quality audits to ensure suppliers continue to work in compliance with company and federal standards.
- Partner with Supplier Quality to track upstream electronic component anomalies and issue Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR). SQE's collaborate with suppliers to drive continuous improvement in their processes, performance, and quality management systems. Serving as a liaison between our company's senior management and the vendors to identify quality issues and come up with solutions.
- Establish quality control systems, variation limits, and Statistical Process Control (SPC) frameworks for complex power assembly lines (including SMT and final enclosure assembly).
- Define qualification strategies and test plans to validate power module performance under worst-case thermal and operational stress.
- Lead risk assessments, specifically Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and Process FMEA (PFMEA).
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES - To ensure Kelvion's Standard of Excellence, which includes quality, is incorporated into every product we produce.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, including but not limited to Global Code of Business Principles, Code of Ethics and Business Conduct, Vision and Values, Operational Framework
REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES)- Proficiency in core quality tools: APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC. Problem Solving and Analytical Skills: Identifying and resolving issues related to product quality, manufacturing processes, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience with electronic assembly manufacturing and high-power safety protocols.
- Data-driven analytical mind capable of querying manufacturing logs, system telemetry, and failure statistics.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (required levels)- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related STEM field.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in product quality, hardware reliability, or power electronics manufacturing.
- Preferred: ASQ Certified Quality Engineer or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt.
- Experience in an ISO 9001
