Summary

Delta Star Inc. is seeking a dedicated and results-driven Quality Engineer to provide essential quality engineering support for the manufacturing of medium voltage, mobile power transformers, and mobile substations. If you're a proactive leader with a passion for continuous improvement and ensuring total customer satisfaction, we'd love to hear from you!

What You'll Do

As a Quality Engineer, you'll lead technical problem-solving activities, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure adherence to quality standards throughout the production process. You'll serve as the go-to technical resource for the Quality Assurance team, supporting manufacturing operations and contributing to the success of our quality management system.

A Day in the Life

As a Quality Engineer, you'll champion quality improvement initiatives by conducting internal audits, implementing quality tools, and driving the resolution of product non-conformities. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance process performance, influence process owners, and foster a culture of quality excellence. Additionally, you'll support the Quality Assurance team with system updates, corrective actions, and hosting audits for both internal and external stakeholders.

Specific Duties
  • Lead technical problem-solving activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct internal system and process audits, including random audits as needed, and prepare reports with follow-up actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to document, assign, and resolve product non-conformities.
  • Improve detection of non-conformances through quality tools like Control Plans, FMEAs, and statistical methodologies.
  • Implement metrics to measure process performance and use findings to prioritize audit strategies.
  • Assist with Quality Management System activities, including updates, corrective actions, and customer/auditor interactions
  • Train and mentor peers on quality processes and methodologies.

Position Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • Previous experience in a transformer manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, internal auditing, manufacturing processes, and continuous improvement methodologies.

Must live or be willing to relocate to within a reasonable safe commute to the assigned plant location. Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer for U.S. based positions.
