JOB SUMMARY

The Mission Critical Quality Manager is responsible for the planning, development, implementation, and execution of the project-specific QA/QC plan. This role ensures that all civil, structural, architectural, and MEP installations are constructed in accordance with the established contract documents, in preparation for equipment commissioning.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the project-specific quality management strategy by implementing the three phases of control (Preparatory, Initial, and Follow-up).
  • Oversee the Project Inspection Test Plan for CSA and MEP installations, prior to commissioning.
  • Coordinate and monitor daily QA/QC activities for the Ryan and Trade Partner Quality Teams.
  • Communicate quality management status and risks to the project team, project leadership, and client teams.

JOB DETAILS
  • Assist with training project team members on the use and importance of the QA/QC Program, including Procore or other required software.
  • Coordinate with the Project team to ensure timely completion of preparatory meetings.
  • Conduct and/or participate in preparatory meetings for each definable feature of work to ensure project team members, trade partners, and all stakeholders understand the quality management requirements.
  • Review shop drawings and submittals for conformance with project specifications.
  • Set quality management expectations with trade partners, including the quantity and timing of field inspections, testing requirements, and documentation requirements for each scope of work.
  • Assist the Project Team by preparing quality management content for additional project meetings, including internal team meetings, OAC meetings, or other trade partner coordination meetings.
  • Manage the Inspection Test Plan (ITP) to develop a complete log of all field inspections and ensure timely receipt of test reports, other supporting documentation, and photos.
  • Coordinate and lead all first work inspections to ensure the workmanship in the field complies with the quality standards that have been established in the preparatory phase.
  • Conduct daily walkthroughs to monitor field progress and ensure continued compliance with the quality requirements.
  • Conduct and document weekly QC meetings with trade partners, project team members, and client representatives.
  • Conduct periodic quality walkthroughs with the client, design team, and/or any other client reps.
  • Identify, document, monitor, and track all deficiencies and corrective actions implemented to remediate the deficiencies.
  • Stop work, if necessary, to resolve matters that affect safety or quality.
  • Review Architect/Engineer field reports to ensure all quality-related issues are communicated to the project team and trade partners.
  • Monitor deficiencies and assist the Project Team to verify effective implementation of corrective actions for each deficiency.
  • Support the project team with completion list, punch list, and phase turnover activities.
  • Monitor Quality Management Dashboards to determine the project teams need for additional support or to direct emphasis towards a specific quality management task.
  • Provide sufficient quality management communication to the Client by conducting periodic site walkthroughs, periodic quality meetings, or any other means necessary.
  • Capture and share lessons learned with the project team, trade partners, and other Ryan Mission Critical project teams.


SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

  • Knowledge and experience with project management software like Procore, AutoDesk, CxAlloy, Bluebeam, Smartsheet
  • Experience executing the Three-Phase Control System (Preparatory, Initial, Follow-Up Phases) for all major construction activities.
  • Professional Certifications like CQM-C, ASQ, etc.
