ABOUT THE ROLEThe Quality Assurance/Quality Control Manager in Transmission and Distribution is responsible for conducting audits of projects and quality standards. This individual develops a standard program, trains and educates staff on quality expectations and quality fundamentals. The QA/QC Manager will also provide subject matter expertise to assist staff in improving their quality program/efforts. This role also ensures compliance with contract specifications, NESC/NEC and applicable codes, and client quality requirements, and serves as the primary quality point of contact for client's inspectors on assigned projects.
The position can be at any of our subsidiary locations or at our headquarters in Thornton, CO
Essential Functions- Create and establish a QA/QC standard program across company for the Transmission and Distribution organization
- Develop and maintain inspection and test plans (ITPs) and project-specific quality management plans (QMPs) in alignment with contract client requirements
- Prepare and complete project construction quality review checklists and required documentation
- Manage the non-conformance (NCR) process, including root cause analysis, corrective action, and verification of closure
- Review and approve subcontractor and supplier quality submittals, material certifications, and calibration records for inspection/test equipment
- Submit quality reporting to management
- Work with district management to address and improve quality practices throughout the duration of the project
- May oversee the work of other members of the quality department
- Appraise customer's requirements and ensure acceptance, serving as the primary quality liaison with client inspectors and third-party inspection agencies
- Maintain records of quality reports and relevant documentation for submission to owner or owner representatives at project closeout
- Essential functions of this position are to be performed in a Company-designated office or field location

ABOUT YOUQualifications- Minimum 8 years of experience in the electrical construction industry
- Prior experience working in a quality assurance or control position
- Minimum 8 years of experience as a Journeyman Lineman working on electrical construction projects preferred
- 2+ years in a QA/QC supervisory or leadership capacity preferred
Preferred Education- Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, Quality Assurance/Quality Engineering, or related discipline; combination of relevant education and experience considered in lieu of degree
- Preferred Certifications
- NICET certification (Power Line/Electrical Construction)
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
- ASQ Certified Quality Manager (CQM) or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
- ISO 9001 Lead Auditor
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities- Proficient with MS Office Suite
- Proficient with blueprints and one-line drawings; ability to read and understand
- Strong knowledge of NESC, OSHA, and applicable client construction and quality specifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Advanced knowledge of electrical systems
- Strong organizational and program management skills
- Ability to travel up to 50%

- Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. MYR Group reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
