Description

As part of the Marketing Team, the Practice Pursuit Specialist supports business development and marketing efforts across the firm by managing complex proposals, qualifications packages, and pursuit-related activities. Working closely with practice leaders, business developers, and technical staff, the Practice Pursuit Specialist independently coordinates and executes complex pursuit efforts from planning through submission while contributing expertise in proposal development, client positioning, messaging, and pursuit best practices. This position serves as an advanced individual contributor with deep knowledge of pursuit processes, procurement requirements, and proposal development.

This position demonstrates advanced proficiency across multiple marketing disciplines and serves as a resource to other marketing team members. Practice Pursuit Specialist demonstrates mastery of 5-7 marketing skillsets, specialties, practices, and/or procurement types, including the ability to support complex federal qualifications packages and SF330 submissions.

Essential Functions:
  • Contribute to proposal strategy, messaging, pursuit positioning, and win themes in collaboration with firm leadership and business development professionals.
  • Analyze client and competitor data, procurement requirements and market trends to contribute to development of proposal strategy.
  • Evaluate solicitation requirements and identify compliance risks, information gaps, or proposal opportunities early in the pursuit process, escalating recommendations to firm leadership as appropriate.
  • Prepare and coordinate private sector and complex federal qualifications packages, including SF330s, agency-specific forms, client questionnaires, and compliance documentation while ensuring accuracy, completeness, strategic alignment with solicitation requirements, and adherence to federal procurement standards.
  • Manage the firm's most complex pursuits, including multi-office, multidisciplinary, and federal opportunities requiring advanced compliance, coordination, and strategic content development.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary proposal teams, establish schedules, facilitate communication, monitor progress, and proactively identify issues that could impact successful delivery.
  • Develop and edit project descriptions, resumes, executive summaries, technical narratives, and other proposal content that effectively communicates the firm's qualifications and experience. Coordinate information from consultants and internal teams while incorporating relevant project references into marketing submittals.
  • Maintain and enhance proposal, marketing, and knowledge management content while identifying opportunities to improve quality, consistency, and overall pursuit effectiveness.
  • Support the effective use of CRM systems, proposal technologies, AI tools, and knowledge management resources while identifying opportunities to improve workflows, information quality, and pursuit efficiency.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for proposal development and procurement processes by sharing best practices, onboarding newer team members to pursuit procedures, and promoting consistency across marketing deliverables.
  • Develop, write and manage production of specialty brochures, mailers, announcements, etc.
  • Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills with the ability to synthesize technical information into clear, client-focused content.
  • Attend pre-proposal conferences, professional meetings or other marketing-related events as appropriate.
  • Foster a commitment to external and internal client service.
  • Maintain project, personnel, and proposal information to support accurate and current marketing resources.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, graphics design, or related field
  • Seven or more years of progressively responsible experience supporting marketing and business development efforts within the A/E/C or professional services industry, including management of complex proposals and qualifications packages.
  • Experience managing RFQ, RFP, SOQ, and qualifications submissions, including familiarity with federal procurement processes and SF330 qualifications packages.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple concurrent pursuits while balancing competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills with the ability to synthesize technical information into clear, client-focused content.
  • Working knowledge of proposal strategy, business development principles, client positioning, and pursuit planning with the ability to apply those concepts to complex pursuits.
  • Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary technical teams and business development professionals.
  • Proven ability to proactively engage with leaders and facilitate discussions
  • Strong design abilities and computer skills with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Working knowledge of marketing CRM databases and proposal resources
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment both efficiently and in an organized manner
