Full Job Description
Position Overview

The Regional Medical Director plays a critical role in overseeing psychiatric and medical services across their designated region, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and regulatory compliance. This leader will coordinate closely with internal and external stakeholders, including medical staff, the SRD, site leaders, referral sources, and insurers, to deliver seamless and effective healthcare services. As an integral member of the Medical Leadership team, the Regional Medical Director works collaboratively with the CMO and other executives, serving as a key resource for both medical and behavioral health teams, and ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.

In partnership with the CMO, the Regional Medical Director actively shapes regional care delivery models, monitors care standards, and supports continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes. This position requires a strategic leader with strong clinical insight and the ability to implement best practices and innovative solutions across a multidisciplinary team.

Schedule
  • Monday-Friday: 8:00am-5:00pm along with on-call duties


Compensation Disclosure
  • Regional Medical Director Starting Salaried Range: $232,870.00- $372,570.00

Final Compensation offered will be within pay range based on qualifications/experience met for the position

How The Regional Medical Director Empowers Recovery
  • Ensure all clients receive comprehensive psychiatric and medical services tailored to their individual needs and aligned with standards set by the APA, REDC, regulatory agencies, and insurers.
  • Provide leadership and support to all Medical and Psychiatric staff, fostering an environment of mentorship and collaboration. Implement systems to ensure providers have access to specialty-specific leadership resources.
  • Conduct evaluations, diagnostics, and treatments, including medication management and other interventions as appropriate, to ensure clients receive timely and effective care.
  • Actively participate in regional leadership initiatives, working to align services with the organization's goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director, CMO, and Medical Leadership teams to spearhead program development and strategic initiatives that enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
  • Operational Oversight: In partnership with the CMO, ensure appropriate staffing, adequate coverage, and streamlined processes to maintain consistent, high-quality care across sites.
  • Serve as a clinical resource to treatment teams, offering expertise and guidance on best practices to support high-quality patient care.
  • Drive care quality through the development and implementation of new practices and processes that enhance service delivery, staff efficiency, and patient outcomes.
  • Carry out other relevant duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Educational Requirement: MD, DO, or APN required.
  • Licensure: Active and unrestricted medical license in the state of practice.
  • DEA Certification: Current and unrestricted DEA license.
  • Certifications (or ability to obtain):
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)/Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI Blue Card) if working at sites in the Southeast Region

Other Qualifications:
  • History of leadership in a medical setting
  • Competency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
