Position: Project Portfolio Analyst
Location: Chicago, IL (Onsite)
Type: Fulltime
Salary: $70K - $120K + benefits
Role Overview
• Establish, implement, and govern IT project management best practices across the organization.
• Define and document project lifecycle policies, processes, and methodologies.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Develop project performance metrics and resource allocation frameworks.
• Report to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) / IT Operations Officer.
• Department: Hospital Information Systems - Project Management.
Education & Certifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
• Master's degree preferred.
• PMI Certification preferred.
Experience Requirements
• 7+ years of IT Project Management experience, including project planning and execution.
• 10+ years of software development and team supervision experience.
• Experience implementing project management best practices, policies, and procedures.
• Demonstrated personnel/team management experience.
Technical Skills
• Knowledge of project management tools (preferably MS Project Server).
• Experience with project portfolio management systems.
• Familiarity with financial management and project tracking software.
Key Responsibilities
• Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and success criteria.
• Manage end-to-end project lifecycle from initiation to closure.
• Track project milestones, deliverables, timelines, and budgets.
• Develop detailed project plans and communication strategies.
• Prepare status reports, presentations, proposals, and requirements documentation.
• Proactively manage project risks, issues, changes, and contingency plans.
• Coordinate and communicate with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Estimate resource requirements and allocate project resources effectively.
• Analyze project progress and troubleshoot delivery challenges.
• Conduct project post-mortems and document lessons learned.
• Coach, mentor, and supervise project teams and contractors.
• Build and maintain strong business and stakeholder relationships.
• Ensure timely communication of project expectations and updates.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
• Lead cross-functional project teams.
• Influence accountability and ownership among team members.
• Collaborate with senior leadership and business stakeholders.
• Strengthen relationships critical to project success.
