Project ManagerWalters & Wolf Glass is currently looking for a Project Manager to join our team in-person in Fremont, CA! Position Overview:The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing glass construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role ensures accurate contract execution, financial oversight, coordination across departments, and proactive communication with contractors, subcontractors, and internal teams. The ideal candidate brings strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple moving parts while maintaining quality and schedule commitments.
Key Responsibilities:Preconstruction & Contract Execution- Collaborate with the preconstruction team to ensure accurate and high-quality contract execution.
- Execute timely and complete subcontract agreements, including all relevant specifications, documents, and project schedules.
- Review and approve subcontractor billings.
Project Planning & Financial Oversight- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project schedules, cost projections, and Change Order Quote (COQ) logs through consistent weekly planning and review.
- Perform pricing based on updated Architectural drawings, including the creation and submission of change order quotes.
- Develop and maintain accurate project cost projections; proactively update forecasts as changes occur.
- Update and manage monthly project billings.
- Support labor monitor meetings by helping establish realistic production goals for shop and field teams.
Technical Review & Coordination- Review and coordinate all shop drawings to ensure compliance with estimates, specifications, precast components, subcontractor scopes, and affected trades.
- Willing to take direction as well as think outside the box and share ideas or solutions.
- Facilitate drawing review meetings to obtain input from field and shop teams prior to final approval.
- Ensure all material takeoffs completed by the fabrication team are reviewed and approved before orders are placed.
- Request, review, and coordinate structural calculations for each project.
- Read, interpret, and apply project specifications, manuals, and drawings to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Analyze and understand estimates, bid proposals, qualifications, inclusions, exclusions, and alternates.
Communication & Documentation- Attend all required project meetings with the general contractor.
- Coordinate project needs and schedules across all internal departments, including shop, field, purchasing, drafting, and takeoff.
- Coordinate all job-site material deliveries
- Utilize the project portal to initiate and manage transmittals, submittals, RFIs, and change order quotations.
- Submit the weekly information approval log to customers every Friday.
- Lead and monitor all "To-Go" list procedures and schedules to ensure timely completion of outstanding items.
Requirements:- 3+ years of experience in Glass Construction required.
- Strong ability to read and interpret project estimates, bid documents, specifications, manuals, and drawings.
- Demonstrated experience managing shop drawings, submittals, and coordination across multiple trades.
- Strong organizational, financial forecasting, and communication skills.
- Proficient in programs such as Excel, Outlook, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced construction environment.
Pay Range:
$80,000 - $100,000 per year.
