As Hatch continues to grow its presence in Ontario, we are seeking an experienced Senior Highway Engineer and Project Manager to play a key role in delivering some of the region's most impactful transportation infrastructure projects. Based in Mississauga, you will contribute to the planning, design, and delivery of complex highway and roadway projects while helping shape the future of transportation networks across Ontario.

Recently, Hatch was selected by Marten Falls First Nation as its engineering and project management partner for the transformative Marten Falls Community Access Road, a landmark Northern Ontario infrastructure project that will provide year-round access to the community for the first time while supporting economic development, Indigenous partnership, and future regional growth.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate, organize and control the activities of all project staff;
  • Establish and maintain communications with clients such as MTO to ensure delivery of project requirements as per contractual agreements;
  • Provide guidance to technical staff, client liaison, conduct technical reviews, prepare project specifications and technical reports and solving complex engineering problems;
  • Assist in negotiating extra work and making minor design changes;
  • Review contract design packages to ensure calculations agree with contract;
  • Prepare project construction report;
  • Foster a spirit of enthusiasm and client focus;
  • Mentor staff and project teams.


Qualifications:
  • Must have a Civil Engineering university degree or equivalent;
  • Must be registered as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario;
  • As a minimum, must have 15 years' experience with knowledge of current MTO standards pertaining to highway design and traffic engineering;
  • Must have experience directly related to MTO projects (relevant experience to meet MTO RAOS qualifications for any of Highway Engineering functional category would be a strong asset);
  • Sound knowledge of highway engineering and construction principles, methods, and practices;
  • Knowledge of project management principles and practices;
  • Demonstrated experience with project management, design, and contract administration;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are essential;
  • Able to multi-task and meet various project deadlines.


Base salary range: $115,000.00 - $165,000.00
