Responsibilities
MV Transportation is seeking a Project Manager for proposed business who will provide support, leadership, and direction to the assigned operating location to ensure delivery of annual business plans. He/she will control the daily operation of our transportation contract, in compliance with the policies of the contracting agency and in conformance with company procedures.
Job Responsibilities:
Effectively manage customer relations through both direct contact and outreach programs.
Identify, select, train, and mentor location staff.
Effectively and frequently communicate with location staff and support team members.
Oversee vehicle maintenance plan and ensure fleet availability to meet service requirements.
Oversee safety and training programs, plans and processes to ensure compliance with company, contract and regulatory requirements.
Maintain client contact routinely to meet or exceed expectations.
Conduct periodic departmental audits.
Daily, weekly and monthly review of key operational metrics.
Ensure that all location financial metrics are managed continuously, exceptions are reported, and action plans are developed to ensure the location meets its financial, safety, and operational expectations.
Implement, promote and adhere to company policies and procedures.
Participate in location(s) labor and employee relations activities.
Provide insight and information to support location(s) contract renewals.
Create and present location(s) annual budget.
Maintain a thorough knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), applicable Federal Transit Administration (FTA) requirements, and all client policies, procedures, and operating requirements applicable to the services provided under this Agreement.
Provide leadership and direction to CONTRACTOR personnel and subcontractors to ensure safe, reliable, efficient, and rider-focused service delivery.
Respond to and manage significant service disruptions, emergencies, and other critical operational events.
Maintain regular communication with client's Project Manager regarding contract performance, operational issues, service quality, and other matters affecting the delivery of service.
Attend meetings, presentations, and other events as requested by client.
Be available during normal business hours and remain reachable outside normal business hours for emergencies through client-approved communication methods.
Ensure client is provided with current contact information for the Project Manager and the designated individual authorized to act in the Project Manager's absence and promptly notify client of any changes.
Qualifications
Talent Requirements:
A minimum of eight (8) years of progressively responsible management and supervisory experience in public transportation operations or a related field.
A minimum of three (3) years of management experience overseeing ADA complementary paratransit service of similar size and complexity.
Demonstrated knowledge of ADA complementary paratransit requirements, applicable FTA regulations, and the management of demand-response transportation services.
Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Possess a Certified Community Transit Manager (CCTM) certification issued by the Community Transportation Association of America (CTAA) and have successfully completed the Transit and Paratransit Management Certificate Program, or an equivalent professional certifications and training acceptable to the client.
College degree or equivalent business management experience.
Must have labor/union(s) negations/expenses expertise.
Must have a full understanding of dispatch, scheduling, driver recruitment, and safety DOT and FTA compliance.
MS Office, strong analytical skills, strong written and verbal communication skills and high degree of multi-tasking skills.
