LOCATION | Dallas, TX

REPORTS TO | Director of Engineering

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT AT O'CONNELL ROBERTSON• .
  • Collaborate with architectural and engineering project teams to deliver high-quality MEP construction documents across various-scale projects.
  • Contribute to the development of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems from schematic design through construction administration.
  • Provide innovative MEP design solutions for Education and Healthcare facilities that help our clients achieve their goals and exceed expectations.
  • Coordinate MEP systems across disciplines • architectural, structural, civil • to ensure seamless integration and constructability.
  • Support project teams in conducting site observations and field reviews to ensure MEP installations align with design intent.
  • Stay ahead of current and emerging MEP design trends, building codes, and industry innovations.
  • Lead ongoing communication and collaboration with team members in other Firm offices, proactively engaging on a daily basis.

WHAT IT TAKES TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN YOUR NEW ROLE• .
  • We're looking for passionate, driven self-starters. Beyond that, you'll need•
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or architectural engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • 5-10+ years of professional MEP design experience in an engineering firm.
  • Experience with Education or Healthcare projects strongly preferred.
  • Self-motivated individual with growth mindset.
  • Revit experience • experience coordinating MEP models within a multidiscipline BIM environment preferred.
  • Working knowledge of applicable building codes, energy codes, and MEP-related standards including but not limited to IMC, IPC, NEC, and NFPA.
  • Familiarity with engineering calculations • load calculations, equipment sizing, duct and pipe sizing, etc.
  • Project management skills including schedule development and maintenance, writing proposals, defining scopes, communicating with clients•
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects in various stages simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines and with clients.
  • PE licensure or active pursuit of PE licensure is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam and Microsoft Office. Knowledge of Newforma a plus.
