SUMMARYWe are seeking an experienced Project Managerto join our Major Projects team in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). In this role, you will lead high-impact, large-scale initiatives from inception through completion-ensuring every project is delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
PRIMARY SCOPE OF ROLEProject Management & Execution- Oversee multiple road-building projects from inception through final completion.
- Manage day-to-day site operations during execution, maintaining full project P&L responsibility.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, baseline schedules, budgets, and resource allocation strategies.
- Ensure all deliverables meet required quality specifications and best-in-class industry standards.
- Apply expertise in managing complex projects delivered through collaborative delivery models.
Pre-construction & Estimating Support- Assist Senior Project Managers during the bidding phase by engaging internal self-perform departments.
- Work with external subcontractors and suppliers to refine scopes, obtain quotes, and finalize estimates.
Leadership & Team Development- Direct, lead, and support cross-functional project teams to maintain operational focus.
- Mentor and train Project Coordinators to support their professional growth and career development.
Stakeholder Management & Communication- Maintain proactive communication channels with internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate and liaise with clients, subcontractors, regulatory bodies, and government agencies.
Financial & Risk Governance- Track and control project budgets to maximize profitability and prevent cost overruns.
- Enforce strict compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations across job sites.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS- Post secondary education civil engineering or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in project management in the road building and construction industry
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
WHAT WE OFFERExpected Base Salary: $110,000 - $120,000 per year. The actual base salary will depend on several factors including experience, qualifications, internal equity, work location, and market expectations.
