Job Summary

The Facilities Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing facility-related construction, renovation, maintenance, and infrastructure projects from initiation through completion. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with organizational standards, safety regulations, and operational requirements. The Facilities Project Manager collaborates with internal stakeholders, contractors, vendors, and leadership teams to support a safe, functional, and efficient environment for staff, patients, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage facilities-related projects including renovations, space planning, infrastructure upgrades, equipment installations, and capital improvement initiatives.
  • Develop project scopes, timelines, budgets, and implementation plans to ensure successful project execution.
  • Coordinate with department leaders, vendors, contractors, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders throughout all phases of projects.
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular status updates to leadership regarding timelines, risks, budget impacts, and milestones.
  • Ensure projects comply with regulatory requirements, safety standards, building codes, and organizational policies.
  • Manage vendor relationships, contractor performance, and service agreements to ensure quality outcomes and accountability.
  • Conduct site inspections and monitor work quality to ensure adherence to specifications and operational standards.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks while proactively resolving issues that may impact operations or project timelines.
  • Collaborate with operational leaders to minimize disruption to daily business operations during project implementation.
  • Assist in capital planning and forecasting for future facility and infrastructure needs.
  • Review project documentation including drawings, contracts, invoices, change orders, and closeout reports.
  • Support emergency response and urgent facility-related operational needs as required.
  • Maintain accurate project records, reports, and documentation.


Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business Administration, or related field preferred with 4 years of practical experience.

Or

Associate's degree with 6 years of practical experience

. Minimum of 5 years of experience managing facilities, construction, renovation, infrastructure, or capital improvement projects from planning through completion.
• Proven experience overseeing all phases of project management, including budgeting, scheduling, vendor coordination, procurement, implementation, and project closeout.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and operational efficiency.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, contractors, architects, engineers, and external vendors to successfully execute complex facility initiatives.
• Strong background in facility operations, maintenance, space planning, and infrastructure upgrades within commercial, healthcare, hospital, or other large-scale operational environments preferred.
• Experience managing projects in occupied or active operational settings with the ability to minimize disruption to staff, patients, visitors, and daily business functions.
• Knowledge of applicable building codes, regulatory requirements, safety standards, and compliance practices related to facilities and construction projects.
• Experience with capital planning, project forecasting, cost control, and contract/vendor management preferred.
• Proficiency in project management software, work order systems, and Microsoft Office applications strongly preferred.
• Healthcare or hospital facilities project management experience highly preferred.
