Job Summary
The Project Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling an assigned project from conceptual stages through completion to optimize profit and meet marketing, financial, construction and corporate growth objectives by performing the following duties.
Education and Experience Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver's License
- Minimum 4 years of supervision experience
- 10+ years of successful experience in commercial construction estimating and project management
- Highly proficient in estimating, budgeting, scheduling, contracts and project financial management
- Experience managing design-build construction projects from pre-construction through completion
- Strong interpersonal, organization, analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills required.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all employees and company information.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Project Manager/Estimator possessing the education and experience listed above performs the following:
- Safely operate and maintain company vehicles as required for job duties, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and company policies
- Manage projects from conceptual design through construction and final closeout
- Analyzes drawing to prepare cost, material, and labor estimates.
- Develops technical project development, estimates potential profits, and release to production.
- Provides technical expertise with project development for projects new and existing fuel, retail, and commercial facilities.
- Participates in overall product strategy, research, and development requirements.
- Develops and maintains a prioritized list of customer and market requirements for new projects.
- Prepares project development objectives and schedules for all phases of project as well as workforce and equipment requirements.
- Participate in key sales situations for the project.
- Maintains communications and contracts to collect and analyze technical, financial, schedule, and sales information.
- Manages project contracts, change orders and financial reporting.
- Analyzes drawings to prepare cost, material, and labor estimates.
- Aligns price packages with suppliers, owners, designers and architects and revise price estimates as needed.
- Reviews and evaluates cost estimates with supervisor prior to submission.
- Communicate with trade partners and team members regarding new and existing projects.
- Works collaboratively in a team environment with spirit of cooperation.
- Other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
The candidate must possess and be adaptable to the following physical abilities and working conditions:
- Move about the jobsite as needed.
- Move work related equipment up to 50lbs.
- Remain in a stationary position for long periods of time.
- Operate various technological devices, including but not limited to a computer.
- Occasionally ascend/descend ladders and/or stairs.
