Job DescriptionProject Manager-Design and Construction SeniorThis is an onsite position located in Indianapolis, Indiana, travelling throughout the state as needed.DescriptionThe Senior Project Manager leads complex construction projects with a high degree of autonomy, strategic insight, and operational leadership. This individual contributor drives departmental improvement initiatives, mentors team members, and represents the Design and Construction (D&C) department with professionalism across all levels of IU Health leadership. They motivate teams, guide project strategy, and ensure adherence to organizational goals. This person oversees project performance across all phases of project delivery - Initiation, Planning, Execution, and Closeout - ensuring quality delivery, financial stewardship, and full compliance with safety requirements that protect patients, staff, visitors, and contractors.
The Senior Project Manager's responsibilities include developing estimates and comprehensive budgets, creating and managing project schedules, leading meetings, and directing procurement strategies. They ensure seamless coordination among designers, contractors, and vendors, mitigate conflicts, and maintain detailed documentation throughout the project lifecycle. This person provides regular reporting to D&C leadership, manages cost forecasting, and oversees turnover deliverables such as record drawings and warranties. They also support broader team functions, reprioritize workload as needed, assist with training and development, and promote adherence to the IU Health Safety Program, contributing to a collaborative and high performing project environment.

Candidate QualificationsCandidates for the position will be evaluated according to the following criteria and competencies.
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, an engineering discipline, architecture or other related field is required.
- Requires 7-10 years of relevant experience.
- Certificate in Healthcare is preferred.
- Requires knowledge of business, management, finance, and project cost control techniques.
- Requires comprehension of applicable regulations, such as the NFPA Life Safety Code, IDOH Regulations including the FGI Guidelines for Design and Construction of Health Care Facilities, International Building Code, and Americans with Disability Act.
- Requires the ability to utilize software programs and templates including but not limited to: eBuilder, Oracle, Power BI, Smartsheet, and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Requires the ability to excel in strategic planning and leadership, balancing overall perspective and project delivery.
- Must be comfortable leading engagements with all levels of leadership while representing the department professionally and positively.
- Requires strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others, and is capable of training, leading, and mentoring.
