Qualifications

  • Minimum 6+ years of experience managing HVAC/Mechanical projects
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management preferred
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical piping systems including hot water, chilled water, and drain piping
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, organize, and monitor project activities
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills at all organizational levels
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; knowledge of Primavera P6, AutoCAD, or Procore is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and approve subcontract agreements and purchase orders
  • Oversee project scheduling and timelines
  • Approve invoices for project expenditures
  • Manage site staff personnel effectively
  • Conduct cost estimation for projects
  • Negotiate and correspond with clients regarding project details
  • Select and audit M/W/DBE firms for compliance
  • Prepare and control project cost estimates
  • Review job costs to ensure budget adherence
  • Prepare change orders and claims as necessary
  • Monitor compliance with quality and safety standards
  • Ensure project adherence to relevant laws and regulations

Full Job Description
The Project Manager (PM) has full responsibility for their entire project. They are responsible for safety, quality, cost, schedule, coordination, and progress of the work. The PM will be the first point of contact for the owner. The PM will be responsible for one or more projects depending on contract amounts and project demand.

Principal/Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Subcontract and purchase order preparation and approval
  • Scheduling oversight
  • Invoice approval
  • Site staff personnel management
  • Estimating
  • Correspondence and negotiations with client
  • M/W/DBE selection, auditing, and compliance
  • Control estimate preparation
  • Job cost reviews
  • Change order and claim preparation
  • Monitoring of compliance with quality and safety standards
  • Monitoring of project for compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned

Required to work at job site or corporate office. This is a full time in-person position.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities, Competencies
  • Should have a minimum of 6+ years of overall experience managing HVAC/Mechanical projects
  • Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management degree preferred
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of mechanical piping theory, hot water, chilled water, and drain piping systems
  • Possess excellent oral presentation and written skills
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, organize, and monitor activities and projects.
  • Able to work well in a group environment and foster a team approach.
  • Able to work well and persuade people at all organization levels
  • Have working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of Primavera P6 Scheduling Software, AutoCAD, and/or Procore is a plus
