Context
Position Overview
TheArchitectural Project Managerleads the delivery of architectural work for transit and infrastructure-related buildings such as maintenance facilities, stations, and support structures. This role is responsible for managing scope, schedule, budget, and quality while coordinating multidisciplinary teams and serving as a key client-facing leader. The successful candidate will bring strong technical architectural expertise, proven leadership, and the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with urgency, accountability, and consistency of standards.
Missions/Main Duties
Project Management & Delivery
- Lead architectural design and documentation from planning through construction
- Develop and manage scope, schedule, budget, staffing, and deliverables
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and consistency
- Anticipate challenges, establish priorities, and respond with urgency
- Support proposal preparation, scopes, and fee development
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as the primary architectural point of contact for clients and project partners
- Lead meetings, present design solutions, and communicate decisions effectively
- Coordinate closely with internal disciplines and external consultants
Design Excellence & Technical Oversight
- Champion high-quality design and technically sound documentation
- Ensure compliance with codes, accessibility, safety, agency standards, and best practices
- Lead internal reviews to ensure alignment, coordination, and design integrity
- Provide construction-phase support, including RFIs, submittals, site visits, and punch lists
Leadership & Team Development
- Provide direction, guidance, and mentorship to project teams
- Promote disciplined project execution, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Help cultivate a culture of quality, consistency, and professional excellence
Profile/Skills
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship is requireddue to the nature of the projects supported
- Licensed Architect (RA) in NY or NJ (or ability to obtain reciprocal licensure)
- Minimum 8 years of progressively responsible architectural experience
- Demonstratedexperience with transit, rail, or transportation facilities
- Proven ability tomanage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong knowledge of building codes, life-safety, accessibility, and technical design
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills
- Demonstrated ability to establish priorities, maintain focus, and act with asense of urgency
- AutoCAD proficiency
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience withK 6 and/or educational facilities
- Experience with Public Housing projects
- Experience working with public agencies or institutional clients
- Proficiency with Revit.
- Experience working in a BIM environment
- Familiarity with alternative delivery models (Design-Build, CM/GC, etc.)
- LEED accreditation or other sustainability credentials

Salary Range: $110,000 - $130,000, SYSTRA USA is providing the compensation range that the company believes it might pay and/or offer for this position, based on the successful applicants education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
