Your role at GEI.

We are seeking a motivated geotechnical professional for the Wakefield, Massachusetts (Boston) office to assist on a variety of projects throughout the region. Project types will include buildings, infrastructure and transportation, dams and levees, and waterfront development.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties

  • Perform geotechnical engineering analyses and design.
  • Observe & manage field explorations and construction activities.
  • Coordinate geotechnical laboratory testing and interpret results.
  • Perform geotechnical analyses, computations, prepare spreadsheets, prepare and edit drawings using AutoCad.
  • Prepare reports and construction specifications.
  • Assist with proposals and business development activities


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Fundamentals of Engineering (FE or EIT) certification.
  • Geotechnical course work required.
  • 2-4+ years of experience.
  • Experience working in a team environment and meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of CAD and other common software.
  • Willingness to travel on temporary assignment if needed.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be willing to work in the field as needed.
  • Ability to perform field work in active constructions sites year-round without restrictions, and in inclement weather if required.
