Full Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Quotations & tracking of engineering prototypes
  • Review of quotation inputs - Specifications, drawing packages, volumes, etc.
  • Sending out Request for Quotes (RFQ's)
  • Maintaining quote database - tracking On-time Delivery (OTD), quote sprint, etc.
  • Maintain and improve analytical quotation calculators.
  • Collaborate with purchasing to issue PO's.
  • Coordinate with suppliers for part delivery/tracking.
  • Continuous improvement of the quotation and sample procurement process.

Design for Manufacturing
  • Review drawing packages before release to identify potential design or manufacturing issues.
  • Work directly with suppliers to review drawing packages and address drawing redlines.
  • Present any issues to the design team and work through solutions to eliminate manufacturing issues.
  • Discuss and align on updates with the supplier.

Inspections of engineering samples
  • Oversee inspection of prototypes when they arrive with fast turnaround
  • Provide Design Engineering team inspection feedback
  • Support First Article Inspection (FAI) process.

Testing of engineering samples
  • Design Verification Plan (DVP) review for projects.
  • Test sample management - define quantity of samples required for validation.
  • Technical support during test - sample assembly, procedures, abnormalities.
  • Interpretation of results with designated engineer.


Requirements and Preferred Skills

  • 2-5+ years' experience in an engineering technician or test engineer role.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor of Science Engineering degree, Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • Familiarity with proper lab safety and housekeeping practices.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
  • Design for manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • Experience with metrology equipment (CMM, gages, laser scanners, etc.) is a plus.
  • Experience with measurement systems analysis and quality techniques are a plus.
  • Experience working with and following engineering (inspection and test) procedures.


Skills and Capabilities
  • A preference to hands on work style.
  • Knowledge of shop tools and inspection techniques.
  • Familiarity with computer tools like spreadsheets and slide presentations.
  • Ability to read and understand CAD models and technical drawings.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including comfort and confidence working with overseas suppliers.
  • Technical aptitude for engineering products and equipment.
  • Flexible to the priorities of the business.
  • Strong organizational skills.

Pay & Benefits
  • Salary - $80,000 - $90,000
  • Full-Time
  • Relocation is not provided

  • Eligible for 3 weeks of paid vacation + 11 holidays (9 scheduled & 2 floating) + 8 sick days. All vacation days are accrued
