About the Role

This role is suited to an individual driven by high standards, someone who has a proven record in taking data center projects through the full project lifecycle. In addition, you will be able to show understanding and capability of resolving complex issues and have excellent negotiating skills.

Leading the project team working for an Owner, Developer, Operator to the successful delivery of a Hyper Scale Data Centre.

As the Project Director, you should have experience of managing skilled multidisciplinary teams.. Ability to understand the wider picture while devoting attention to detail. You should be proactive, diligent, able and willing to think ahead and be able to manage difficult situations.

Attitude is characterized by enthusiasm, customer first mentality and solutions driven. A collaborative manager able to foster trust-based partnerships. Quality focus and driven to drive project efficiency.

Enable and provide as necessary, effective commercial risk management and problem resolution. To manage a professional team and supplier relationships (including that of the Contractor), ensuring development of skills for commercial staff.

Main Responsibilities

/ A member of Yondr Design and Construction, the role is a site based role reporting to the Senior Construction Director

/ The role will have full accountability for the full lifecycle of project delivery from early pre construction through to handover to the Yondr internal customers Yondr Operations.

/ The candidate should be able to work independently but with a clear understanding of internal reporting responsibilities and accountabilities, supported by the Campus Director

/ Support the design process through site prepared information (Stage 3) to construction information for delivery (stage 4 -5).

/ Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with Yondr's supply chain partners.

/ Review relevant information and safeguard compliance with the Employers Requirements and contractual obligations.

/ Manage the process of procuring the General Contractor (GC), sub-contract and supplier orders and authorize in line with company procedures.

/ Establish informal partnerships with subcontractors for key trades. Establish dialogue with the construction team throughout the process.

/ Engage with the main contract design team to understand the basis of design development and any changes which are being presented.

/ Ensure information is compliant with the Planning / Permitting requirements for the scheme.

/ Work effectively as part of the senior management team and take a "whole company" perspective to managing day to day project issues.

/ Administer agreements including the Development Agreement and Main Contract Agreement. Ensure all contractual obligations are discharged in full.

/ Provide regular reports to the Client and Customer team.

/ Use fine judgement to make difficult decisions with limited data in tight time scales

Qualifications and experience

/ At least 15 years relevant professional and project delivery experiences from a client perspective and/or in construction in a multi-site Data Centre portfolio

/ Management of multi-professional and multi-cultural teams and projects

/ Management and leadership of vendors inc. architects, engineers and contractors

/ In-depth knowledge of construction and capital projects strategy, markets, customers, and supply chain in region

/ Experience in all forms of contract and administration

/ Delivery of several projects including Data Centres

/ Excellent communication and collaboration skills
