Purpose:

As part of a project leadership team, APMT are looking for an individual to lead the project controls discipline for theSCTT Equipment Electrification Upgradeproject on a contract basis, startingQ32026. The role is the Project ControlsManager.

This position requires the Project Controls Manager to be based full-time on site in Port Said, Egypt. The role is highly hands-on and requires the successful candidate to actively perform detailed planning and scheduling activities, while also leading and overseeing the overallProjectCntrolsfunction across the project. The Project Controls Manager will be supported by a direct-report team member responsible for cost control and change management functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all project controls activities, including planning, scheduling, reporting, governance, change control, risk management, and performance monitoring.
  • Develop, maintain, and consolidate project controls systems and deliverables, including Primavera P6 schedules, Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), Advanced Work Packaging (AWP), and the Project Execution Plan (PEP).
  • Establish and maintain approved scope, schedule, cost, and quality baselines, and track project performance against them.
  • Drive project reporting, providing accurate and timely performance updates, forecasts, KPIs, leading and lagging indicators, and executive-level reporting to project leadership, PMO, and corporate stakeholders.
  • Facilitate and oversee change management, risk management, document control, and correspondence management processes.
  • Act as the primary owner and administrator of project control systems (primarily PMWeb), including governance, user access management, system improvements, and integration with project controls processes.
  • Proactively identify, manage, escalate, and resolve project control issues affecting construction, equipment delivery, IT, and automation workstreams.
  • Ensure compliance with APMT project management standards, procedures, and ways of working, including governance, reporting, and project controls methodologies.
  • Collaborate closely with project teams, global functions, consultants, contractors, and suppliers to ensure alignment, consistency, and transparency across all project controls activities.
  • Lead and mentor project controls resources where required.

CRITICAL QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Must Have

  • Relevant professional experience:

  • 7years overall, including a minimum of5 yearswithin a project controls functional discipline

  • Accountability in project delivery onatleastonelarge-scale and complex capital infrastructure projects

  • Workingina culturally and technical diverseteam and environment, internally and externally to your organisation

  • Confidently presenting andeffectivelycommunicating tointernal (project) and external (HQ) stakeholders in written and spoken English

  • Coaching and/or mentoring others across a team or broader functional business

  • Delivering a high-level of accuracy and quality

  • Relevant(& hands on)technical experienceandknowledge of:

  • Completionand been awarded anadvanced project managementqualtification, for example APM PMQ,PMIPMPcertificateor equivalent.

  • Project management platforms and systems (formanaging document controls, contracts, change, cost,communicationandmilestones)e.g.PMWeb, Proliance, PCM,Skireor similar.

  • Project management tools including scheduling software e.g. Primavera, MS Project, etc.

  • Managing through influence and creatingteamcommitment to followinga governance structure, including procedures,processesand project controls

  • Proactive performance management through leading (predictive) measures

  • Advanced planning and scheduling using Primavera P6, including schedule development, maintenance, progress monitoring, critical path analysis, WBS development, resource loading, and reporting.

  • Bachelors degreein Engineeringdisciplineis essential

Preferred (but notessential)

  • Experience of working in a matrix organisation

  • Experience of supervision and line management of others in project controls or project management roles.
