Position Summary

Richard Construction, Inc. (RCI) is seeking an experienced Project Controls professional to join our Project Controls team in Clarksville, Tennessee. This position is responsible for leading project cost control, forecasting, progress measurement, and reporting activities on assigned construction projects.

The successful candidate will provide leadership in all aspects of Project Controls, ensuring accurate cost and project performance while supporting project management through forecasting, change management, risk management, and progress reporting. This role requires strong technical expertise, analytical skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with project management, field supervision, and clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution of Project Controls programs on assigned projects in accordance with Richard Construction, Inc. Project Controls Department procedures.
  • Implement Project Controls Plans for assigned projects.
  • Manage project cost control, forecasting, and progress measurement activities.
  • Prepare, maintain, and present project cost forecasts to project management and clients.
  • Integrate risk management with forecasting, change management, cost control, trend management, and claims management processes.
  • Monitor project performance, identify cost and schedule impacts, and assist in developing recovery plans when necessary.
  • Lead construction progress measurement and prepare weekly progress reports.
  • Analyze project performance and provide innovative solutions to cost and schedule challenges.
  • Support project organizational and administrative requirements.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to project teams on Project Controls processes and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, procedures, and reporting requirements.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the chemical, refining, industrial manufacturing, or heavy industrial construction industries.
  • 3-5 years of Project Controls and Cost Engineering experience.
  • Previous experience supporting capital projects in chemical plants, refineries, oil & gas facilities, industrial construction, or government projects is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with:
    • Cost estimating
    • Cost forecasting
    • Cost control
    • Cost analysis
    • Progress measurement
  • Proven ability to establish and manage Project Controls processes and procedures.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with management, project teams, and clients.

Technical Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of:
    • Cost accounting principles
    • Engineering and construction cost practices
    • Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) development and management
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including working with large datasets, formulas, and data analysis.
  • Proficiency with:
    • Microsoft Excel
    • Microsoft Word
    • Microsoft PowerPoint
    • Microsoft SharePoint
  • Experience with project cost tracking, forecasting, progress reporting, and scheduling.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to solve complex project challenges.
