Responsibilities
Position Outline:
Provide preliminary design services and design development to company construction projects and facilities. Provide technical expertise and support to senior management in areas of design, survey, construction documents, construction administration and aid in projects of major scope and complexity.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead production of schematic design drawings, design development and construction documents
- Manage projects from conceptual design through construction completion, including consultant coordination, permitting, bidding support, and construction administration
- Support planning and execution of corporate office renovations, workplace improvements and space planning initiatives
- Perform zoning research and manage/file local municipalities required permits as necessary.
- Coordinate with consultants throughout all phases of design and construction
- Perform review and analysis of constructability and value engineering
- Coordinate and maintain project schedules
- Develop and produce an array of drawing types (i.e. sketches, maps, construction documents, as-builts) for design, planning, sequencing/phasing of facilities, as well as, new development
- Use computer-aided design software and equipment to prepare project designs and drawings.
- Prepare material takeoff information. May assist with project cost estimates as directed.
- Prepare and disseminate all required documentation such as status reports, drawings of completed/anticipated work, material requirements and takeoffs, etc.
- Provide technical support for senior management and all projects/facilities
- Coordination with field personnel to accomplish project specific tasks.
- Prepare site reports through verbal, written, and graphic communication
- Coordinating architectural, structural, civil, MEP, and specialty consultants
- Prepare presentations, graphics, and technical reports for senior leadership and project stakeholders
- Interface with municipalities and regulatory agencies to secure approvals and permits
- Review RFI’s, construction submittals, prepare punch list and perform on-site inspections, when necessary
Qualifications
Skills & Aptitude:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture or Construction Science and Management from an accredited institution required
- New York State Registered Architect preferred, candidates actively pursuing licensure will be considered
- 4-6 years of professional architectural or construction management experience, including design development, construction documentation, permitting, and consultant coordination
- Experience preparing and coordinating submissions to local municipalities, planning boards, zoning boards, building departments and regulatory agencies
- Basic knowledge of land surveying is a plus
- Construction Management skills are a plus
- Computer experience required:
- AutoCAD/Civil 3D required
- Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Computer experience preferred:

- Adobe Creative Suite (i.e. Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.)
- Trimble survey
- Bluebeam
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task
- Detail oriented, efficient, adaptable to changing deadlines and priorities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential to this position
- Ability to performed effectively in a fast paced environment; able to accurately process written documents, perform duties in a timely manner, be highly organized and able to interface; communicate effectively with company, consultants, and field personnel at all levels.

Reports to: Director of Architecture
Base Salary Range: $95,000 to $115,000
Location: Farmingdale, NY
