Full Job Description
The Opportunity:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Project Architect with experience in Construction Administration to join our Providence, RI Office. This is a unique opportunity to help grow an emerging Perkins Eastman office, collaborating with a close-knit team of local architects, as well as support regional K-12 and Higher Education projects based in Boston and Stamford.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about design, with a strong background in construction administration, construction documentation, site coordination, and client engagement. You will play a key role in ensuring that our current Rhode Island-based K-12 & Higher Education projects are executed to the highest standards of design and construction quality.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with Principal and senior leadership.
  • Serve as the liaison between the architectural team, clients, contractors, and consultants during construction.
  • Manage day-to-day construction administration activities for a range of education projects, from primary school though higher education.
  • Review and respond to RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings in coordination with design teams.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and compliance with design intent.
  • Manage process of bulletins, sketches, etc.
  • Facilitate construction meetings and prepare meeting minutes. Internally track RFI and Submittal logs
  • Ensure timely communication and resolution of field issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of project correspondence, changes, and field reports.
  • Assist in preparing punch lists and close-out documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to project specifications, codes, and standards.
  • Advocate for the architectural vision and contract documents throughout the construction process.
  • Collaborate with design team members and consultants to resolve conflicts and maintain design excellence.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in architecture or related field.
  • 10 + years or more of experience in construction administration, preferably with education projects.
  • Strong understanding of building systems, construction methods, and architectural detailing.
  • Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office. ProCare or other digital construction administration platforms.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with AIA contract documents and construction processes.
  • Experience working on education projects.
  • LEED accreditation or knowledge of sustainable construction practices.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Must be a licensed, preferred in the state or Rhode Island
