Description
JOB OVERVIEW: The Local Program Manager leads new programs with a cross-functional team consisting of Product Engineering, Sales, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, and suppliers as required to support the program. The Program Manager works and communicates with local customers, local team members, Research Engineers, HQ Program Management, and Sales in Korea to develop and launch programs while ensuring alignment with PM G/L and PMO on best practices and the implementation of systems within their programs. Additionally, the Program Manager supports customer communications by attending on-site and online meetings and reviews at Mobis and customer locations throughout the USA, Mexico, and Korea, and supports the Mobis cross-functional team through customer data and document reviews as needed. The Local Program Manager supports program launch activities from award through 90 days post-SOP, or longer as required, to ensure a successful launch.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Typical responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Milestone Tracking: PM monitors progress of Customer and Mobis's key deliverables by ensuring project milestone status is up to date for management awareness and adjust plans as needed to keep things moving forward. This involves managing project scope and prioritizing with resource planning to prevent bottlenecks.
Stakeholder Management: Keep all important people informed about project status, challenges, and wins. Regular updates and clear communication with stakeholders help maintain trust and support for initiatives. Responsible to complete weekly PQMR Report-Out status and ensure red, green and yellow definition is applied correctly and consistently.
Risk Assessment: PM tracks / communicates technical and team-related challenges to identify potential issues early and develop practical solutions before they negatively impact the project. Oversee development of 1 pager plan for each red program issue to understand and communicate: Phenomenon, Root Cause, Counter Measures & Plan and any open discussion points that need to be communicated internally within Mobis or Customer.
Quality Control: PM ensures deliverables meet requirements while maintaining high standards throughout the project.
- Provide guidance to the global cross-functional project team and ensure the team is driving towards excellence by using Mobis's best practices and guidelines in their projects.
- Feed-back lessons learned and risks back into functions or groups.
- Work with PM Department Head and PMO to ensure standard procedures and methods are in place and followed for program consistency.
Project Management- Interface with required functional disciplines and departments for program support.
- Ensure customer requirements / procedures are identified and understood by project teams.
- Ensure completion of local deliverables within all phase and gate objectives.
- Facilitate interaction between project cross functional team and customer to ensure alignment and status to project deliverables.
- Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities relating to the product, process, and system by analyzing risk management techniques.
- Lead implementation of change(s) and follow processes for documenting changes.
- Manages and executes the program based on the product development process to meet defined metrics within Mobis's PMS or Gate(s) Deliverable structure/schedule.
- Organizes and facilitates team meetings at the necessary frequency through customer PDT, Internal PDT and supplier reviews.
- Drives accountability and action within the program team through set-up of required meetings and clear documentation for the actions.
- Drive communication with fundamental understanding of Mobis's and customer norms, values and expectations.
- Achieves results through influence leadership and provides appropriate constructive feedback where necessary to help team members to be more effective.
- Approaches program execution and challenges with a professional and positive attitude.
- Deals with conflict swiftly, constructively, and decisively, inside and outside of Mobis regardless of levels in the organization.
- Utilizes Cost Change Point Management (CRM) for all project changes to ensure they are captured in the system for completeness of management report-out.
- Respectfully challenges for key information, rationales, root causes, evidence, desired outcomes and next steps.
- Represents Mobis credibility and confidently in front of all levels of the customer organization.
- Escalates and drives issues appropriately (both internally and externally) to management in a timely fashion to secure the necessary support and resolution.
- Collaborate with other members of leadership to develop and drive a forward-thinking and winning culture.
- Flexibility working together with team to show commitment to deal with both development team in Korea, Local Mobis development team, and local customer.
ADDITIONAL REQUIRED SKILLS/ REQUIRMENTS- Ability to work in a team as well as an organized and independent way of thinking.
- Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills, written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to interface and effectively communicate with customers and core team at all levels.
- Proficiency in structured problem-solving tools and techniques (5 Phase, 8D and Fishbone methods).
- Proficiency in MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint.
- Knowledge of product and process (design, specifications, applications and system integration and manufacturing).
- Proven ability to overcome obstacles and get results.
- Demonstrate effective relationship team building skills.
- Strong sense of responsibility and respectful communication to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Ability to work within a global cultural cross-functional project team and understand how to work effectively with team dynamics.
- Analyzing critical issues to properly evaluate project risk in timing or cost, and then make a creative suggestion.
- Advanced verbal communication skills, group presentation, negotiation & influencing.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/YEARS OF EXPERIENCE- Bachelor's degree: Engineering, Science, or Business or equivalent industry specific experience required.
- +3 years of project/program management is preferred.
- +7 years of automotive project development experience is highly preferred.
- Global Automotive OEM experience is preferred and prior experience with automotive products that Mobis designs and manufactures.
- Experience with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).
- PMP Certification is preferred.
- Language: Korean language a plus.
PHYSICAL DEMANDSPosition requires occasional or frequent moderate physical activity.
EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK- Typical work week is 40 hours.
- Working hours for employees are flexible with a typical day starting 7am- 9am M-F.
WORK ENVIRONMENT- Office work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any hazardous or unpleasant elements.
TRAVEL - Occasional international travel.
- Frequent local travel.
