The EMC2 organization delivers advanced, multi-domain battle management capabilities that enable joint and coalition operations worldwide. We are seeking a proven, experienced leader to serve as AIR6500 Senior Program Manager - Deputy to Program Director. AIR6500 will field a Joint Air Battle Management System for the Royal Australian Air Force, integrating air, electromagnetic, and missile defense domains. As a corporate focus program of high strategic importance, this role offers a unique opportunity to apply your expertise and drive critical outcomes across a dynamic, large-scale enterprise.

The AIR6500 Senior Program Manager serves as the Deputy to the Program Director, providing strategic leadership and operational oversight for a high-visibility corporate focus program. The role manages four inter-related workstreams, ensures alignment with program objectives, and drives delivery excellence across large cross-functional, geographically-dispersed teams. This is an expat assignment based in Adelaide, Australia with a target start date of January 2027.

Key Duties include:

Act as the Deputy for the Program Director, representing the program in executive forums, decision-making committees, and stakeholder briefings.
Directly manage four workstreams, ensuring milestones, budgets, and quality standards are met.
Serve as the primary point of contact to manage and maintain a strong strategic partnership with senior customer counterpart.
Create and maintain integrated program plans and schedules; synchronize deliverables across workstreams, perform comprehensive risk and opportunity management, and surface interdependencies.
Own and be accountable for cost, schedule, technical performance, and contractual requirements across all workstreams.
Lead, coach, and develop program management team; execute knowledge transfer, succession planning, and resource allocation.
Manage program budgets, ensuring financial and business objectives are met.
Establish governance structures, program controls, and produce executive communications.
Identify, assess, mitigate program risks, and exploit opportunities; implement contingency plans and maintain an up-to-date risk register.
Drive the advancement of program management and functional readiness across the organization, fostering disciplined processes and a culture of execution excellence.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of proposal management experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of program management experience overseeing large-scale, complex programs and portfolios
  • Must possess an active Secret clearance
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and align internal teams, subcontractors, customers, and partners
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships while leading the resolution of complex issues requiring cross-LM and customer collaboration
  • Energetic leader who thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environments
  • Prior experience managing large subcontractors and suppliers
  • Strong executive presence and communication skills
  • Proven transformational leadership driving high impact results


Desired Skills

  • Experience across the full program management lifecycle - development, production, sustainment including systems / platform integration
  • Prior experience managing international programs, and/or working with international teams
  • Experience with Command and Control (C2)
  • Hardware development and production experience
  • Experience executing agile development contracts
  • Experience working on a complex software program
  • Strong capture management skills


Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $164200.00 - $305000.00

The salary range for this position is as listed on the requisition. Please note that the salary information listed is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market(work location) and business considerations when extending an offer.

  • Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
