Job Title:Program Director-Mental Health Services
Job Summary:To lead the strategic development, implementation, and evaluation of patient care and related activities within the assigned area. To manage, direct, and provide services and training experiences for mental health-related professionals and trainees in accordance with the medical center's purpose. To support implementation of grant-supported or research projects related to mental health services.
Education & ExperienceEducation and Experience:Master's degree in counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field and five (5) years of experience in mental and behavioral health services required. Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale programs, lead collaborative teams, deliver evidence-based care, and work within a school, hospital, clinic, or community-based setting is essential.
Certifications, Licenses or Registration Required: Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor (LPC-S), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker-Supervisor (LCSW), Licensed Psychologist, or other related licensed mental health provider in the state of Mississippi.
Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesKnowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; psychosocial methods; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders. Knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for the diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of physical and mental dysfunctions and for counseling and guidance. Verbal and written communication skills. Interpersonal skills. Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications. Ability to gather, record, and analyze data. Ability to assist individuals in recognizing and solving problems.
Responsibilities:- Manages and directs the operations and delivery of patient care within the assigned area(s) in accordance with budgetary and staffing guidelines.
- Ensures that patient care is delivered in accordance with UMMC and regulatory standards and evidence-based practice.
- Participates in the development of quality improvement programs. Mentors, trains, and coaches staff within assigned area and collaborates with the department of hospital education to meet identified education/training needs of staff.
- Provides patient services as assigned.
- Uses feedback from patients and staff and other quality indicators to improve and promote quality patient care.
- Serves on at least one committee to improve patient care or work areas. Demonstrates core standards of exceptional customer service.
- Facilitates execution of research conducted within the clinic.
- Ensures that assigned area or unit is properly and efficiently staffed for quality patient care delivery.
