Full Job Description
Job Description:

Marietta College invites applications for the founding Program Director of its new Master of Business Administration (MBA) program, with an anticipated start date of January 2027. This is a full-time, administrative position with teaching responsibilities, commensurate with qualifications, reporting to the Provost of the College.

The Program Director will serve as the academic, operational, relational, and student-services hub of the MBA, the first point of contact for prospective students, the coordinator of adjunct faculty, the steward of employer partnerships, and the lead on ACBSP candidacy documentation. For the right candidate, this is an uncommon opportunity: a small institution's culture and resources, with a genuinely new program to build from the ground up.

Essential Functions:

Curriculum and Academic Oversight: Coordinate academic scheduling, Canvas course maintenance, and instructional continuity across all five 8-week terms.

Teaching: Teach one or more MBA courses annually within the Director's area of expertise.

Adjunct Faculty Recruitment and Coordination: Recruit, onboard, and support qualified adjunct instructors, including orientation to shared course playbooks, Canvas shells, and AI Integration assignment standards.

Student Services and Enrollment Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for all MBA inquiries from initial interest through graduation. Partner with Admissions and institutional stakeholders to steward the enrollment pipeline and cohort viability thresholds.

Employer Partnerships and Alumni Engagement: Build employer and alumni partnerships supporting tuition reimbursement, corporate cohorts, and applied AI enabled capstone projects.

Accreditation (ACBSP): Lead the ACBSP Candidacy Application process from Intent to Apply through self-study preparation and site visit. Maintain ACBSP Standard 5 faculty qualification tables annually.

Service: Represent the MBA program in departmental, Graduate Council, and institutional service contexts.

Requirements:

Required Qualifications

Master's degree in a business-related field is required at minimum. An MBA is acceptable as the qualifying degree for this position and satisfies the ACBSP minimum faculty credential for graduate business instruction.

Minimum of three years of professional business experience outside of teaching. ACBSP Standard 5 requires documented in-field professional experience for all business unit faculty; this documentation must be on file before any instruction begins.

Demonstrated ability to build and manage relationships with external stakeholders, including employers, alumni, or community organizations.

Strong written and oral communication skills, including comfort presenting to faculty governance bodies, employer partners, and prospective students.

Preferred Qualifications

An earned doctorate (Ph.D., D.B.A., or equivalent) in business, management, economics, or a closely related field is strongly preferred.

Because the Program Director is expected to teach in the MBA program, a doctoral credential is the most straightforward way to support the program's ACBSP Standard 5 Doctorate Degree Qualified (DDQ) threshold.

Demonstrated experience integrating artificial intelligence (AI) tools or methodologies into graduate level teaching or curriculum design.

Prior graduate-level teaching experience, including experience with asynchronous online course delivery via Canvas LMS or a comparable platform.

Experience coordinating or supervising adjunct or part-time faculty.

Prior involvement in regional or professional accreditation processes (ACBSP, AACSB, HLC, or equivalent).

Experience managing a student recruitment or enrollment pipeline,or developing employer tuition-reimbursement or corporate cohort partnerships.

Familiarity with ACBSP accreditation standards,or demonstrated willingness to complete ACBSP mentor-supported candidacy training within the first year of appointment.

Application Instructions:

Interested applicants should submit a cover letter, resume, and contact information for three professional references. All applications/resumes must be submitted through this online process. We regret that we are unable to accept applications or resumes submitted by mail, email, or fax.
