Job Summary
We are seeking a Professional - Software Engineer III with extensive SAP ABAP development experience to support the SAP Plant Maintenance (PM), Service Management (SM), and Project System (PS) modules. The role involves providing technical expertise for projects, system enhancements, and production support, while collaborating with other SAP development and configuration teams, including SAP-CCS, SAP-MM, SAP-FI, and SAP-BW. The ideal candidate will have strong experience developing and enhancing SAP applications, integrating SAP with external applications, troubleshooting complex technical issues, and maintaining SAP technical infrastructure within ECC environments.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and enhance ABAP programs, reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, forms, and workflows (RICEFW) within the SAP EAM, PM, SM, and PS modules.
• Collaborate with functional consultants, business analysts, and end users to gather requirements, analyze business processes, and propose technical solutions.
• Design and implement custom functionalities, user exits, and enhancements to optimize SAP system performance and meet business objectives.
• Perform complex debugging and troubleshooting of ABAP programs to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
• Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and performance tuning of ABAP programs to ensure reliability, stability, and optimal system performance.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to peers, promoting knowledge sharing and development best practices.
• Stay current with SAP ABAP technologies, tools, and trends, and recommend improvements and innovations to enhance system capabilities.
• Collaborate with functional consultants, project managers, and technical teams to deliver high-quality SAP solutions on time and within budget.
• Resolve production support issues by troubleshooting and determining whether process, development/ABAP, security, or configuration changes are required.
• Participate in blueprinting and project design sessions, as assigned, to understand business requirements and validate proposed process approaches.
• Maintain knowledge of SAP technical concepts, technologies, releases, and patches, including the application of SAP OSS Notes.
• Promote operational excellence and innovation by encouraging process and technology improvements that enhance system capabilities and workforce productivity while considering service costs.
• Provide rotational on-call support outside regular business hours to address emergency issues.
• Perform work with a high degree of effectiveness, efficiency, and accuracy.
• Establish and maintain effective partnerships with client organizations, functional teams, and other IT team members.
• Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentoring to coworkers on SAP PM-related components.
Required Qualifications
• 10+ years of SAP development experience in the PM, SM, and PS modules.
• Experience maintaining SAP technical infrastructure within SAP ECC environments.
• Hands-on experience with SAP web technologies and integration technologies.
• Experience integrating SAP with external applications, including web applications.
• Strong experience developing, enhancing, debugging, testing, and supporting SAP ABAP solutions.
• Ability to troubleshoot production issues and determine appropriate technical, security, configuration, or process-related resolutions.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with functional consultants, business analysts, end users, project managers, and technical teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills and commitment to quality, efficiency, and operational excellence.
