What You Will Be Doing

Lead and Provides a level of postsales support and service to customer sites and remote sites at a high-tech level that cannot be rendered by the basic level of field hardware and systems software service. Employee is usually introduced to the customer site when the nature of equipment service required is beyond the skill level possessed by the basic field/customer service engineer. This position is located at Luke AFB, AZ.

Additional resonsibilities & requirements include but are not limited to:
• Guides Canadian schedule requirements and production issues as they pertain to the F-35 aircraft.
• Supervises daily maintenance and flying operations. Attend daily maintenance and flight operations meetings as required.
• Reviews completed work orders and accomplishes Aircraft Safety of Flight Releases.
• Ensure workforce follows appropriate technical instructions, Air Force Instruction 21-101, and local operating instructions. Advises management of status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are provided as needed.
• Must be able to perform short notice travel for business, Temporary Duty (TDY), and extended TDY to support Aeronautics Field Sustainment (AFS) program, mission or customer requirements. A valid passport is desired.
• Candidates must be capable of working first (1st), second (2nd) dependent on mission requirements or customer needs.
• Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a flight line driving competency card.
• Must possess at minimum an Interim Secret Security Clearance prior to starting. Must be ableto obtain a Final Secret Security Clearance. Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Physical Requirements:

Regularly required to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive movements, work overhead, use hands to grasp, handle, and/or feel, reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, and twist.

Basic Qualifications

The following Basic Qualifications are skills that a candidate must possess to be considered for this position:
• Minimum 6 years of fighter aircraft experience with thorough understanding of flight line operations.
• Overall fighter experience must include at least 2 years F-35 aircraft maintenance experience.
• 1 year experience as an aircraft production superintendent or expeditor.
• Experience with such programs as Aircraft Scheduling/Records Management, Job/Maintenance Control, Configuration Control, Maintenance Information System, Tool and FOD, Training, Safety, Security, Hazardous Waste Management or Supply Chain Management.

Desired Skills

The following Desired Skills are not required but are those skills that would set a candidate apart from the other candidates:
• 4 years leadership experience in an aircraft maintenance environment
• Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS) or Integrated Maintenance Information System (IMIS) experience
• Understanding of USAF Maintenance Practices
• Strong verbal and written communications skills for coordinating with Field Service Representatives, and Maintenance Managers on schedules, aircraft status and issues as they occur.
• Effective communication skills for coordination at all levels throughout the USAF Wing structure to include Operations, Maintenance, and Logistics Support Managers
• Ability to lead workforce
• Proficient in the use Microsoft Office products
• Ability to develop and present formal briefings and presentations.
• Ability to develop necessary maintenance plans and procedures.
• Knowledge and understanding of USAF AFI 21-101
• Ability to develop work schedules and assign tasks.
• Experience providing On-the-Job Training to other equivalent peers and /or maintainers

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $72500.00 - $134600.00

  • Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
