JOB SUMMARY:

Production Control Manager ensures efficient scheduling and coordinates the necessary materials, people, and equipment needed to produce and deliver quality cartons on time, as well as managing inventory flow throughout the manufacturing operation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Control costs to meet annual budget requirements.
  • Maintain and control plant finished goods and raw material inventories.
  • Interacts with Customer Service and Sales regarding incoming orders.
  • Leads Shipping/Receiving and Production Control Administrative employees.
  • Communicate with Plant Manager regarding the necessary equipment and materials to run product.
  • Resolve customer issues with scheduling.
  • Ensure production schedule meets customer shipment needs.
  • Maintain corporate goals of NLF, COV, and safety.
  • Interaction with accounting to evaluate variances within the manufacturing process.
  • Support Six Sigma projects as necessary.
  • Responsible for compliance with all facility food safety, food defense, and quality policies and procedures including product safety (GMPs)/Sanitation policies and procedures. The employee must continually work to promote the orderliness and cleanliness of their work area in support of SQF/5S and other company standards.
  • Must be supportive of GPI's Mission, Vision, and Core Values (Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships, and Teamwork).
  • Must be supportive and involved in GPI efforts for LEAN, 5S, Six Sigma and other Continuous Improvement programs and processes
  • Quality Mode Element co-owner for Supplier Management with the CI Manager
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
  • Srives to clearly understand customer requirements and delivers results to meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Ability and responsibility to stop any process that is not meeting food safety requirements.
  • Serves as back up to Plant Manager
Safe Quality Food Responsibilities:
  • Follow all Plant rules, Processes, Hygiene, and Allergens procedures, related to production of Safe Quality Foods.
  • Report to person of authority to record any potentially unsafe conditions which may result in unsafe foods or noncompliance to SQF related procedures.
  • Participate in SQF Root Cause and Corrective Actions (from customer complaints, SQF audits, validation, and verification activities) as required.
  • Follow all procedures related to producing Safe Quality Foods (SQF).
  • Report any potentially unsafe SQF conditions or customer complaints to a person of authority to record and/or correct the situation
Job Specifications
  • BA degree in Business Management or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience within folding carton industry or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills in MS Office
  • Superior management/leadership skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
Education & Experience:

BA degree or related work experience required in lieu of degree.
