Full Job Description
The Role:As a Product Manager, AI handles the production work a junior PM used to spend their days on, so your job from day one is the hard part: understanding customers, designing experiments, and developing judgment. You own metrics and numbers, driving to target and helping other stakeholders drive to their targets. You work daily with GM PMs, Senior PMs, engineers, and operations, and you continue to focus on delivering the best Ownwell experiences to customers and stakeholders.

What You'll Do:
  • Own assigned metrics outright - for example, exemption flow completion rate, collections rate, unsubscribes, onboarding activations. Diagnose it, experiment on it, and report it weekly.
  • Own the customer feedback loop for your area - five or more customer conversations or Care-ticket deep dives per week, synthesized in writing for the team.
  • Run experiments end to end - hypothesis, spec, instrumentation plan, launch behind a flag, readout, and the next decision.
  • Learn the operations - sit with ops, property tax consultants, and Care to understand how the service is actually delivered and problems we need to fix before proposing how software should change it.
  • Communicate cross-functionally - surface issues early, ask thoughtful questions, and escalate ambiguity fast; at this level, escalating is a strength. Your weekly update follows the standard four-line format: metric, progress, blocker, decision needed.
  • Use AI daily as your production staff - specs, data pulls, analysis, surveys, and dashboards- under the accountability rule: no raw paste, verify everything, and be able to defend every line without the tool in the room. Anything customer-facing goes through the brand and polish steps.

Requirements:
  • 1-3 years of experience in a product, operations, analytics, or startup role; founders and ex-operations people welcome.
  • Excellent communication skills, especially when engaging directly with customers.
  • Evidence of an AI-native working style: show us something real you produced with AI leverage and how you verified it.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Nice to Have:
  • Eagerness to learn from senior team members and contribute meaningfully from day one.
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to work across teams and disciplines.
  • Comfortable in fast-moving environments with shifting priorities.
  • Passion for delivering great customer experiences and driving impact.
  • A bias to figure it out yourself before asking, paired with the judgment to escalate what genuinely needs it.

Ownwell offerings
  • Entrepreneurial culture. Own your career; we are here to support you in the journey.
  • Access to First Round Network to build your community outside of Ownwell.
  • Flexible PTO. We believe in giving you the flexibility to own your time off. In addition to flexible time off, you will get 11 company holidays. We offer the last week of the year to recharge and reset.
  • Competitive health benefits. We care for you and your family's health, as reflected in our benefits coverage.
  • Learning support through a $1,000 stipend per year to enable investing in your individual learning needs.
  • Supporting parental journey. We offer up to 16 weeks of fully paid parental and bonding leave to support your journey as a new parent.
  • As applicable complimentary real estate and tax consulting licensing and renewal
