About the role The Benefits team empowers small businesses to easily offer the health insurance, wealth benefits, and perks that help them attract and retain talent while promoting their teams' well-being. We build intuitive, guided experiences that simplify complex decisions and streamline administration across a robust suite of competitive benefit offerings.
As a Product Manager of Benefits, you'll play a high-impact role by driving the roadmap of a team core to the delivery of our mission. You'll focus on scoping and prioritizing new initiatives with research-backed case development and work through the complete product development lifecycle to successful delivery. Across your initiatives, you'll balance both product (customer-facing) and platform (internal-facing) concerns, optimizing all aspects to meet our high standards.
As a champion for your team's focus and productivity, you'll remove obstacles and develop team camaraderie to ensure maximum, high-quality output that aligns with Justworks' business objectives. You will operate independently within your scope and clearly articulate the reasoning behind your decisions to your peers and cross-functional stakeholders.
Responsibilities- Demonstrate ownership for the products you build and an understanding of shipping services that can perform and scale with Justworks
- Shape the strategy and roadmap for key Benefits initiatives and articulate a compelling vision of business impact to stakeholders across the product and engineering organizations
- Partner deeply with engineering to investigate and prioritize issues/bugs and develop technical knowledge with their guidance
- Actively hone your knowledge of the PDLC, from discovery through delivery and iteration
- Build strong relationships across teams by demonstrating curiosity, empathy, and a commitment to customer-centered partnership
- Contribute to team problem-solving and actively support or facilitate team processes and ceremonies
- Take on opportunities beyond core responsibilities to support product strategy and drive impact
What you'll need- Minimum of 2 years of product management experience in a modern technology business or equivalent experience in software engineering, data science, or business analytics
- A strong commitment to problem-solving, capable of breaking down complex problems for team execution against business needs
- A willingness to deeply understand the fundamentals of our business model and prioritize your own education and development through interviews with coworkers, customers and prospects
- Deep user empathy and a high bar for user experience
- Excellent persuasion and advocacy skills, using clear frameworks, story-telling and first-principles reasoning
- Strong technical acumen is a plus
- Prior experience working in a highly regulated domain (e.g. fintech or healthcare) is a plus
The base wage range for this position based in our New York City Office is targeted at $131,000.00 - $161,000.00 per year.
Actual compensation is based on multiple factors that are unique to each candidate, including and not limited to skill set, level of relevant experience, and specific work location. Salary ranges for positions based in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location.
