KLA is seeking an experienced Product Applications Development Engineer to develop and deliver innovative eBeam metrology applications for advanced logic, memory, and packaging technologies. Based in Milpitas, CA, this position will be responsible for:

  • Metrology expert
  • Thorough in-depth understanding of customer technologies and critical gaps
  • Develop, optimize, and qualify eBeam metrology applications for Overlay, CD, EPE, and process control.
  • Design and execute characterization plans to evaluate tool performance, accuracy, precision, matching, and throughput.
  • Lead customer demonstrations, evaluations, Head-to-Head (H2H) studies, beta testing, and production qualifications.
  • Analyze semiconductor process and metrology data to identify process issues, develop solutions, and drive process control improvements.
  • Develop measurement recipes, Best Known Methods (BKMs), technical documentation, and application reports.
  • Troubleshoot customer issues and provide technical support for advanced semiconductor manufacturing applications.
  • Collaborate with Product Engineering, Systems, Software, Algorithms, Marketing, and Sales teams to drive product improvements and new application development.
  • Provide technical training and application expertise to customers, field engineers, and internal teams.
  • Support technology development for advanced Logic, DRAM, NAND, and Advanced Packaging semiconductor processes.

Requirements

  • Metrology expert
  • Thorough in-depth understanding of customer technologies and critical gaps
  • Knowledge of optical CD, scatterometry, film metrology, and process characterization.
  • Ability to work individually and in groups
  • Must have at least 2 years of proven experience with operating SEM and optical metrology systems in the semiconductor industry
  • Demonstrated capability to lead projects from kick-off till completion, with clear planning and periodic/final reporting
  • Ability to perform complex data/image analysis using data-analysis tools
  • Experience with Python, MATLAB, JMP, SQL, or similar analytical tools preferred
  • Must have excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills. Candidate will be required to frequently present results to internal as well as external customers.
  • Domestic/international travel up to 50% on short notice (trips could be 4-8 weeks long) is required to support projects at customer sites.

Qualifications:

Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Physics, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum Qualifications

Doctorate (Academic) Degree and 0 years related work experience; Master's Level Degree and related work experience of 3 years; Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 5 years

Base Pay Range: $120,000.00 - $204,000.00
