Job Description:
Position Summary
The Field Foreman leads and supervises construction crews on utility-scale solar projects. This position requires travel to solar project sites and may include extensive domestic and international, including overseas, travel. This role is responsible for daily crew leadership, safety, productivity, quality, materials, and field coordination. He runs the crew and manages daily field operations when the Construction Manager is unavailable.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and supervise construction crews on utility-scale solar projects.
• Travel to domestic and international utility-scale solar project sites as required.
• Direct daily work activities and assign tasks based on project priorities.
• Run the crew and manage daily field operations when the Construction Manager is out.
• Coordinate with the Construction Manager, Field Engineers, subcontractors, inspectors, and site personnel.
• Monitor crew productivity, work quality, attendance, materials, equipment, and schedule progress.
• Conduct daily toolbox talks, safety meetings, and job hazard assessments.
• Enforce OSHA, company, and site-specific safety requirements.
• Inspect completed work and correct quality issues.
• Identify field conflicts, material shortages, equipment issues, and schedule risks.
• Communicate daily progress, delays, incidents, quality concerns, and resource needs.
• Complete daily reports, production records, time records, material reports, and photographs.
• Train crew members on safe work practices, utility-scale solar installation procedures, and quality standards.
• Support installation and field testing of new solar products, tools, and procedures.
• Provide practical field feedback to Field Engineers and product R&D teams.
• Assist with punch-list work, rework, project closeout, and demobilization.
• Maintain a safe, organized, professional, and productive job site.
Required Qualifications
• Experience as a Field Foreman, Crew Leader, Supervisor, or Lead Installer in utility-scale solar construction.
• Strong knowledge of utility-scale solar construction methods and installation sequencing.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a construction crew.
• Ability to make sound field decisions when the Construction Manager is unavailable.
• Strong knowledge of construction safety and hazard controls.
• Ability to read and follow construction drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
• Strong communication, organization, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively to utility-scale solar project sites.
• Ability to travel internationally and overseas when required.
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet project travel requirements.
• Ability to work outdoors and safely navigate active construction sites.
• OSHA, First Aid/CPR, competent-person, or other construction certifications preferred.

Pay is based on market location and may vary based on factors including experience, skills, education and other job-related reasons. The annual salary range for this position is $85,000.00-$95,000.00.
