The
Procurement Sourcing Leader will play a pivotal role in building, maturing, and scaling the supply base for Copeland's next generation of strategic platforms. This role sits at the intersection of sourcing, engineering, operations, and supplier development, ensuring new suppliers are identified, qualified, and ramped effectively to support aggressive program timeliness and long-term growth.
You will lead suppliers' readiness for key new product introductions (NPI), drive cross-functional alignment, and help shape a resilient, high-performing supply base capable of supporting future strategic programs.
This position is critical to ensuring Copeland's future platforms launch on time, with the right suppliers, at the right cost, and with the right capabilities. You'll help shape the supply base that underpins our next decade of innovation - and you'll do it in a highly visible, strategically important role.
As A PROCUREMENT SOURCING LEADER, You Will:Supplier Ramp & Program Execution:
- Lead supplier onboarding and ramp-up activities for new strategic platforms, ensuring readiness across quality, capacity, cost and delivery.
- Manage program timelines, milestones, and risk mitigation plans related to supplier performance and sourcing deliverables
- Partner with engineering and operations to translate technical requirements into sourcing strategies and supplier capability needs
- Facilitate cross-functional program reviews, escalating risks and driving resolution to keep programs on track.
- Travel up to 25-30% of the time depending on projects.
Supply Base Development:
- Identify, assess, and develop suppliers to support emerging technologies and long-term strategic platforms
- Conduct capability assessments and maturity evaluations to ensure suppliers can meet evolving technical and operational requirements.
- Support dual-sourcing, localization, and resilience strategies to strengthen supply continuity.
- Collaborate with Supplier Quality, Commodity Management and Advanced Manufacturing to drive supplier improvement initiatives.
Strategic Sourcing Support:
- Contribute to sourcing strategies for new programs, including make vs buy analysis, supplier selection, and commercial negotiations.
- Align supplier development activities with broader commodity roadmaps and enterprise procurement strategies.
- Support cost modeling, early supplier engagement, and value engineering efforts during product development.
Risk Management & Governance:
- Identify supplier risks early in the program lifecycle and lead mitigation planning
- Maintain program dashboards, supplier readiness metrics, and executive-level reporting.
- Ensure compliance with corporate procurement policies, sustainability expectations and regulatory requirements.
Required Education, Experiences & Skills: - Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Engineering, Business or related field
- 5+ years of experience in procurement, supplier development, program management, or NPI sourcing
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, supplier capability assessment, and supply chain risk management.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex, multi-phase programs
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Education, Experiences & Skills: - Experienced with supplier ramp-ups, new product introductions, or strategic platform launches is highly desirable
- Preferred experience in Commodities such as Castings, Steel, Stampings, Plastics
- Certifications such as Project Management is preferred
